The Homegrown manufacturer, Bajaj Auto is continuously testing its upcoming Pulsar 150NS. The bike has recently been caught testing in Pune with the current model of Pulsar 150 DTS-i. The test mule was looking production ready, which hints that it could join the Pulsar range soon. Based on the platform of Pulsar 200NS, the 150NS will be a naked sport style bike.
It will share the design of headlamp, instrument console, turn indicators, rear view mirrors, fuel tank, tank cowls, side panels, tail lamp, 10-spoke wheels, front mudguard and front disc with the 200NS. The other parts of the bike including the rear panel, contoured seat, and full chain cover looks similar to the current Pulsar 150. The rear grab rail is all new along with the rear mudguard.
The Bajaj Pulsar 150NS will sport the 150cc, air-cooled DTS-i mill with some advance technologies. The company can also introduce 4-valve technology, which is being used in Pulsar 200NS and 135. The transmission could be a 6-speed gearbox. All these advancements in the new motor will increase both the performance and efficiency of the machine.
Sporting a modern mono-shock suspension at the rear, 150NS will get the telescopic forks at the front. Unlike the new front disc brake, the rear wheel will receive the same drum type unit. It will also get an under-belly type exhaust similar to the 200NS along with the new foot-peg mountings. The cosmetic design of the bike will cost the bike higher than the Pulsar 150. However, the new technologies will also contribute to a major part of its increased price tag as well.
So, the Bajaj Pulsar 150NS is expected to be positioned between Pulsar 180 and 220 DTS-i and priced around Rs. 75,000. We already know that Bajaj is ready to launch its flagship bike- Pulsar SS400 which is expected to be launched in upcoming festive season. Now, it seems that the company will also launch the Naked Sport 150 soon after the bigger one to compete with the Yamaha FZ series and Honda CB Trigger.
