EXCLUSIVE: Bajaj Glider, Freedom, Trekker And Marathon Trademarked: Multiple Exciting Bajaj Bikes Incoming?

From a 400cc sports tourer to an ADV or even a CNG bike, here’s what we think Bajaj has in store for us

Bajaj Auto has submitted trademark applications for the Bajaj Glider, Freedom, Trekker, and Marathon. Here’s what we think each name represents

Bajaj Glider

The Bajaj Glider name has been ‘Accepted’ by the trademark authority. As its name suggests, the Glider could be a faired sports tourer sibling of the Dominar 400 with the same 373.3cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 40PS and 35Nm. The overall design language could very well be similar to the Pulsar F250’s half-fairing.

Bajaj Freedom & Bajaj Trekker

The Bajaj Freedom name is ‘Marked for Exam’ which means that the trademark application has been assigned to an examiner who will assess its eligibility for registration under the various sections of the Trade Marks Act. Meanwhile, the ‘Bajaj Trekker’ name has been ‘Accepted’ by the trademark authority. 

We believe that the Bajaj Freedom could be a 250cc cruiser, whereas the Bajaj Trekker sounds like a name that belongs on an adventure bike.

Both these bikes are expected to be based on Bajaj’s existing 250cc engine platform. Similar to the Bajaj Pulsar N250 and Pulsar F250, these upcoming bikes could feature the 249.07cc air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that makes 24.5PS and 21.5Nm. However, they could be tuned differently to suit the nature of the bikes.

Bajaj Marathon

The Bajaj Marathon name has been ‘Accepted and Advertised’ by the trademark authority. It might be the name of Bajaj’s upcoming 150cc CNG bike, about which Rajiv Bajaj, managing director, Bajaj Auto, gave a few insights in his recent interview. 

However, there is also a possibility of the Marathon being a three-wheeler from Bajaj, as the Marathon name itself gives off a picture of what could be a three-wheeled commercial workhorse.

It is worth noting that Bajaj has applied for these names recently and they may take a while before actually making it to the market. Before all of those, Bajaj will be launching the Pulsar NS400 and we will also witness the upcoming CNG bike’s debut real soon.
