TVS iQube Electric Scooter: More Affordable Variants to Launch Soon

TVS Motor Company is working on new variants of the iQube electric scooter, which are expected to be launched this year. Some of these upcoming variants are likely to be more affordable than the standard and iQube S variants.

In the latest earnings conference call, K N Radhakrishnan, director and CEO, TVS Motor Company, said, “We will be announcing multiple options in TVS iQube to provide appropriate range and price combinations with different battery capacity to our customer because this is very very critical, this is also our insight from our customer understanding.”

We think that these upcoming electric scooters are going to be more affordable than the currently offered iQube standard and S variants. Even though the price hike due to the EMPS subsidy hasn’t been all that much, TVS is still the second best-selling electric scooter in India after the Ola S1 range. Hence, bringing in one or more affordable variants will help the Hosur-based brand maintain its position in terms of sales.

Another reason why bringing an affordable TVS iQube variant makes sense is that it will also help the brand compete with the upcoming cheaper Bajaj Chetak variant, which is scheduled to be launched this month. If TVS sees enough interest and demand for the iQube ST, then the manufacturer can also launch it later this year.

Moreover, Radhakrishnan also mentioned that the deliveries of the TVS X will also start in May 2024, adding, “...we are reaching out to those who booked and they are very excited with the ride experience they got and we are starting deliveries in the next few weeks…”

The more affordable iQube variants will compete with the Ola S1 X, Ather Rizta S, Bajaj Chetak Urbane, Vida V1 Plus, and Ampere Nexus EX.
