The launch of an all-new Bajaj Chetak has been confirmed and will take place on December 20, 2024. The brand has also teased the new generation of its electric scooter on its social media handles. In fact, the test mules of the upcoming Chetak had been spotted in the past, hinting at its design. That said, the Bajaj Chetak electric has been around for a few years and has received numerous updates over the years.

It is expected that the next-gen Chetak will use a new chassis that could offer more underseat storage than the current model. The new chassis should also bring other improvements as well. However, the design of the upcoming Chetak may remain similar to that of the current model. It is possible that Bajaj will redesign some elements of the e-scooter, keeping it fresh compared to the rivals.

With the new chassis, the upcoming Chetak is likely to feature a larger battery pack in order to increase range. Currently, it is powered by a 3.2 kWh unit delivering a claimed range of up to 127 km. Additionally, there could be an updated electric motor with an improved top speed and power output. Last but not least, the upcoming model might also support faster charging.

Expect the new Chetak to carry forward more or less the same features from the on-sale model. It could also boast a handful of more features as a part of a generational update. Meanwhile, the upcoming Bajaj Chetak is likely to command a slightly higher premium over the current version, which has been priced between Rs 96,000 and Rs 1.56 lakh (ex-showroom).
