Here are the pictures of the upcoming BMW G 310 R-based adventure motorcycle, the BMW G 310 GS, which is expected to arrive at the Milan Motorcycle Show in November.

It has been quite long since the first rumour was raised for the BMW G 310 R-based adventure motorcycle. Now, Motociclismo website has posted some pictures of the upcoming bike, which is speculated to be called the “BMW G 310 GS.” Spotted testing in Europe, the adventure version of the G 310 R is expected to make its debut at the upcoming EICMA i.e. the Milan Motorcycle Show in November this year.

Though the BMW G 310 GS is based on the G 310 R, it looks much influenced by the company’s flagship GS range of adventure bikes. Be it the high-mounted mudguard, sculpted fuel tank, raised suspension set-up or the luggage carrier and pannier mounts, all says that it is a member of the BMW GS family.

Propelling the upcoming BMW G 310 GS will be the same 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which powers the G 310 R. The motor makes 35PS of power and delivers 28Nm of torque, however, we can expect a slightly different behaviour of the mill with the adventure motorcycle. Apart from the powerplant, the bike shares the 6-speed transmission and many other components with its streetfighter sibling, such as the wheels and the brakes. Moreover, the suspension units are the same, comprising of beefy USD (Up-Side Down) front forks and rear monoshock, but with an increased travel.

The bike falls in the entry-level adventure segment, which is quite popular in many countries, providing a wide scope to the BMW G 310 GS. Looking at the road conditions, India is also one of those countries which is now understanding the need of this kind of motorcycles, and the newly-launched Royal Enfield Himalayan has already proven that. Not only BMW, but the popular Austrian brand KTM is also reportedly planning to bring in a motorcycle in the respective segment, which will be based on the existing 390 Duke. The BMW G 310 GS is expected to be launched in the market sometime in 2017 with a price tag between Rs 2.5 - 2.8 lakh, which is also expected to be almost the same as its upcoming rival, the KTM 390 Duke-based adventure bike.
