Honda CB 125 F Summary

February 24, 2016: Honda has taken learning to ride a motorcycle a step further. They’ve launched a special version of the CB125F aimed specifically at motorcycle training schools. While the CB125F isn’t sold in India or even in its home country Japan, the CB 125F will exclusively to be sold to training facilities only. The few modifications done to help new riders are those massive crash bars which are essential for riders who’ve never straddled a motorcycle before and will probably land up dropping the motorcycle. This means we need to wait for some more time to see it running on Indian roads. The company officials haven't confirmed anything about the India launch of the motorcycle. It was expected to be showcased at the Auto Expo 2016, but the company did not bring it.

Overview

Honda is planning to bring the CB125F to India hopefully sometime later this year. Given the fact that the Honda CB Stunner has been discontinued from the Indian market, we can expect the new Honda CB125F to be its replacement in the 125cc segment. Honda already leads the 125cc segment in the Indian market with the AnchorCB Shine and the recently introduced 5-speed gearbox variant with cosmetic updates in the form of the Honda CB Shine SP.

The styling of the Honda CB125F is similar to the new Honda Livo with a commute like design but the new multi-spoke alloy wheels and the chiselled fuel tank with big shrouds lend the motorcycle a sporty look. The Europe-spec model has a twin-pod analogue instrument console that looks neat but we’re guessing Honda will use the same instrument console that goes in the Honda Livo. The international spec model gets a fuel-injected, 125cc engine putting out 10bhp of power and 10.2Nm of torque.  In India though it will most likely come with a carburettor and the 125cc engine will be from the new CB Shine SP. The CB125F will also get slightly fatter 120mm telescopic forks up front and the same five-step spring preload adjustable rear shocks that are on the CB Shine SP. The CB125F should be priced between Rs.70,000-75,000 ex-showroom in the Indian market.
