The Indian wing of the Japanese two wheeler giant, Yamaha Motor India is continuously testing its 2014 FZ-S Version 2.0 for a long time now. Once again, a spy picture has been emerged of the test mule on Greater Noida Express Way. The bike is based on the FZ concept showcased at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo with some major cosmetic changes over the existing FZ Platform.
The new Yamaha FZ gets an elegant body work with revised headlamp, tank fairing, rear body panels, exhaust muffler and rear fender. The bike also gets a new split seat which enhances the sportiness in it. Tank flaps are provided with air bays to improve air induction, which will result in better performance.
The bike might get the similar 153cc, air-cooled engine mated with a 5-speed gear box, which comes with the existing model of the series. However, it is expected to be tuned for some extra power output of around 15bhp. Other important features of the bike including fully digital console, street handle-bar, fat front forks, rear mono-shock, 5-spoke alloy wheels and front disc brake will be continued in the new model.
Yamaha might launch the new FZ with a slight hike in the price, however, with new features and increased power output, it can be a stronger competitor of 150cc segment in the market.
