Yamaha continues to follow a high growth trail

India Yamaha Motors, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Japanese two wheeler giant Yamaha Motors, is getting buzz response from Indian domestic and overseas market. The company's sales touched raising growth that is 53 per per in the month of April this year which sets high-peak for the sports bike manufacturer. The company recorded 38.1 per cent growth with sales of 25,817 units in domestic market in the month of April this year as compared to 24,968 units in same month previous year.
Commenting on this good sales, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. said that we are happy to touch this amazing sales mark. Yamaha's marketing and promotion activities are on the top gear which are pushing the sale of Yamaha's products in domestic and overseas market. Sports bike Yamaha YZF R15, Yamaha's FZ and SZ series bikes like Yamaha FZs, Yamaha SZ S, Yamaha SZ X and Yamaha SZ R are winning the hearts of bike lovers. The company has good sales and service network in the tier II and tier III cities, he said.
To promote and make popular its bikes in India, Yamaha is conducting various marketing initiatives and organising the Kidz Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS), R15 One Make Race Championship, Riding Clinic & various events at the regional level. The second season of the Yamaha Riding clinic and the Yamaha Safe Riding Science for Kids in Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi and Lucknow has been successfully organised where safe riding habits for the future were taught.
It is well known that Yamaha entered in India in 1985 and in August 2001, Yamaha India became a 100 per cent subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC). Meanwhile Mitsui & Co., is also another joint investor in it which entered in 2008. Presently the company has two manufacturing facilities in India like Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh and Faridabad in Haryana which produce bikes both for domestic and export markets. And more than 2,000 employees are working in these facilities along with over 400 dealers pan India. Yamaha India includes value for money and well performer bikes in its Indian stable like Yamaha YZF R1, Yahama FZ1, Yamaha Fazer, Yamaha FZ S, Yamaha FZ16, Yamaha SZ, SZ-X and SZ-R, Yamaha YZF R15, Yamaha SS 125, Yamaha YBR 125, Yamaha YBR 110 and Yamaha Crux. Meanwhile VMAX and Yamaha MT 01 are two monster by the company which have competition with Harley Davidson, Ducati, and BMW bikes.
Now the overwhelmed company seeks to enter in Indian scooter market and planing to launch Yamaha Bws, Yamaha Fino, Yamaha Neo, Yamaha Nouvo, Yamaha Spark etc. scooters in Indian market which are capable to size the Honda Activa's sales share.
