BGauss C12i Summary
BGauss launched its fourth offering, the C12i Max electric scooter, at Rs 1,04,999 (ex-showroom, excluding FAME 2 and state subsidies). Check out more about it here.
The BGauss C12i Max has a hub motor, with a 2.5kW (peak) and 1.5kW (nominal) output for a claimed 0-40kmph time of 8.5 seconds, a top speed of 50kmph, and a gradeability of 15 degrees. Its battery has a 3.2kWh capacity, with a 0 to 100 percent charging time of six to seven hours. BGauss claims an ARAI range figure of 143km.
The C12i Max has 12-inch/10-inch pressed steel wheels, with 130mm drums front and rear. It gets a telescopic fork and twin rear shocks. In terms of features, it gets an LED headlight, taillight and indicators, and an all-digital console showing data such as a speedometer, odometer and battery charge status, along with a distance to empty readout. It also offers smartphone connectivity and a dedicated app with features like real-time battery charge status, post ride stats, remote immobilisation and geo-fencing with last parked location, but it misses out on navigation.
The approachable seat height (765mm) along with the high handlebar and long-ish footboard will likely accommodate riders of all shapes and sizes. The relatively light 107kg kerb weight should make it quite manageable too. That said, the 18-litre underseat storage isn’t unimpressive for an electric scooter.

- Worst ever buying experienceVery very poor quality vehicle. I bought bgauss C12i from tectrac delarship Kalyan nagar Bangalore in Aug 2024. From day one it has lot of issues. Since I have it's most in service centre for warranty claims. From day one motor problem, left to service center and they took 20days to claim warranty. 2nd month break system issue started no spare parts at service centre . The service centre minimum turn around time to fix any issue is minimum 15-20 days.Promised range was 110km with load but merely reaches 60 to 65km after investing 130,000/- to purchase this poor to poor quality vehicle. Service centers are pathetic including staff. Bycle service centers are far far better than this EV scooter service centre. Even staff doesn't have quality looks like all 10th pass are hired. Rude and unprofessional customer service. Vehicle takes 6-7 hours for full charge. Vehicle is not compatible with fast chargers at charging stations. Battery is very very heavy to remove and charges if you stay in rented house or upper floor can't carry everytime. As max practice range is 60-65kms suitable for news paper delivery in the morning.
