Brixton Motorcycles has launched the Crossfire 500 and Cromwell 1200 series motorcycles in India and here’s everything you need to know about it. 

Brixton Motorcycles is a part of the KSR Group from Austria and has launched the Cromwell 1200 motorcycle in India. They have partnered with KAW Veloce Motorcycles Pvt Ltd and have set up a production facility in Kolhapur.

How much does the Cromwell 1200 cost?

Prices for the Crossfire 500 start at Rs 7,83,999 for the base standard variant, and go up to Rs 9,10,660 for the top X variant (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).

How many variants does the Cromwell 1200 have?

The Cromwell 1200 comes in two variants: Standard and X. The Standard is a roadster while the Cromwell X is a scrambler. The standard gets an 18-inch spoke wheel at the front with a 100/90-18 tyre and a 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear with 150/70-17 tyre. While the X gets a 18/17-inch spoke wheels setup with a 110/80-19 tyre at the front and a 150/70-17 at the rear. The standard variant gets road-biased tyres while the X gets knobby dual-purpose tyres to be better at off-roading. Both the variants get a telescopic fork and preload-adjustable shock absorbers. The X gets a raised handlebar which makes the posture upright and improves the ergonomics for going offroad. 

What are the colour options of the Cromwell 1200?

The standard variant of the Cromwell 1200 is available in three colours: Backstage Black, Timberwolf Grey and Carbo Green. The Cromwell X comes in a single paint scheme which is Offwhite. 

What are the specifications of the Cromwell 1200?

Both variants of the Cromwell 1200 are powered by a 1,222cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine which makes 83PS at 6,550rpm and 108Nm at 3,100rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Brixton claims the Crossfire 500 mileage will be 22kmpl, and it has  a claimed top-speed of 198kmph. 

What are the underpinnings of the Cromwell 1200?

Both the variants of the Cromwell 1200 get the same set of brakes – dual 310mm disc at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear. Suspension on both variants is a non-adjustable telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. The fuel tank capacity is 16 litres. Both variants ride on an 18-inch spoke wheel at the front and 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear. The standard variant gets a 110 section tyre at the front and a 150 section tyre at the rear. The X gets a 110 section tyre at the front and 150 section tyre at the rear. 

What features does the Cromwell 1200 get?

The Cromwell 1200 gets a round TFT display which gets two riding modes: Eco and Sport. Other features include cruise control, dual-channel ABS, switchable traction control, anti-theft key system and LED lights all-round. 

What are the alternatives for the Cromwell 1200?

The direct competitor for the Cromwell 1200 is the Triumph Bonneville T120 but is comparatively more expensive. However, for the same price as the Cromwell 1200, you can get other options such as Kawasaki Z650 RS, Kawasaki Z650 and the Trident 660.
