Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR 2019

19 June 2018: Kawasaki’s flagship track tamer, the ZX-10RR, comes with all the bells and whistles for absolute performance. While the design of the motorcycle is similar to the Ninja ZX-10R, the RR variant features a black Winter Test colour scheme. The ZX-10RR competes with BMW S 1000 RR, Ducati Panigale V4 S and the Suzuki GSX-R1000R in the Indian market. It costs Rs 21.9 lakh, ex-showroom.

The 998cc in-line 4-cylinder liquid-cooled engine pushes out a massive 200PS of power at 13,000 rpm. The power further jumps to 210PS at the same rpm with ram-air. The peak torque figure stands at 113.5Nm at 11,500rpm. The ZX-10RR comes with a modified cylinder head to accommodate race-kit high-lift cams. The crankcase has also been reinforced for more rigidity to enable reliable performance. 

With the help of Kawasaki’s WSB racing team, the brand has equipped the motorcycle with DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating on the tappets for more efficient performance. The powerplant is paired to a 6-speed transmission that comes with an updated Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) up-and-down as standard. Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, multiple power modes, traction control, engine brake control, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function are all standard. 

The fully-adjustable 43mm Showa Balance Free Front forks and the Horizontal Back-link, BFRC lite gas-charged monoshock have been tuned to suit the single-seat setup and the new wheels and tyres. Speaking of which, the motorcycle gets a specially-designed Marschini 7-spoke multi-directional forged aluminium wheels that offer high rigidity and a significantly reduced moment of inertia. The wheels are wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres for optimum grip. Brakes include dual 330mm discs with Brembo M50 monobloc radial calipers up front and a 220mm rear disc.
