Bajaj Achieves BS-IV Compliance For All Its Motorcycles

Modified On Jan 13, 2017 12:53 PM By Chinmay Chaudhary

Bajaj Auto has achieved the clean emission milestone well before the stipulated date of March 31, 2017

Bajaj Auto has announced that its entire product portfolio targeted for the domestic market, including motorcycles, three wheelers and quadricycles, is BS-IV compliant now. The company had recently announced price hike for all its current models ranging from Rs 700 to Rs 1500, depending on the model and variant.

The newly launched Dominar 400 is not affected by this price hike though. This move has been made to offset the rising raw materials cost and also the cost of development needed for the switch from BS-III to BS-IV emission norms applicable from March 2017.

Bajaj AutoLtd President (Motorcycle) Eric Vas in an interview with PTI stated, "The price hike is due to the transition to BS-IV and also to accommodate increase in raw material costs as well. The hike shall not affect recently launched products like the Dominar 400".

By making its entire lineup BS-IV compliant, Bajaj Auto has become the first motorcycle manufacturer in the country to achieve the clean emission milestone.
