Hero Xtreme 160R 2V: Features Explained

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2024 Xtreme 160R 2V at Rs 1,11,111 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated model is packed with a host of new features for 2024.

The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V comes with a fully digital instrument console that is an inverted LCD with five levels of brightness adjustment that displays essential information like speed, tachometer, odometer, fuel level, gear position, and time which is quite basic.

An additional notable feature is a drag race timer. Being a commuter bike it isn’t a feature that will be used that often. The drag race timer offers two modes: D1, which tracks the bike's 0-60 kmph acceleration, and D2, which measures its quarter-mile (0-402m) performance. Additional features include a USB charger to charge your device when on the go and it provides smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.

The bike retains its 163cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, delivering 15.2PS and 14Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox from the previous iteration. The engine performs decently being a commuter bike. 

Built on a tubular diamond chassis, it is equipped with a telescopic front fork and a 7-step preload-adjustable rear monoshock. For braking, the Xtreme 160R 2V features a 276mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a 130mm rear drum. Weighing 139.5kg kerb, it offers 167mm of ground clearance, a 790mm seat height, and a 12-litre fuel tank. It also features a new flatter seat with a lowered pillion seat, for added comfort.

Positioned as a sporty commuter in the 160cc segment, the Xtreme 160R 2V competes with rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V, Bajaj Pulsar N150, and Yamaha FZ FI V3.
