Honda CD 110 Dream Deluxe vs Hero HF Deluxe vs TVS Sport: Spec Comparison

It's the battle of the commuters with the new Honda CD 110 Dream Deluxe up against its two rivals

Honda has launched the CD 110 Dream Deluxe BS6 in India. The BS6-compliant motorcycle now gets an all-new fuel-injected 110cc motor and other updates that come at a premium of around Rs 13,000 over its BS4 predecessor. The updated motorcycle continues to compete with the Hero HF Deluxe and the TVS Sport which have been also updated to meet BS6 norms. Here is an on-paper comparison between the three commuter motorcycles to see which one comes out on top: 

Powertrain:

The Hero HF Deluxe continues to use the Splendor’s fuel-injected motor. Its small-capacity motor makes the least amount of power and torque here. Of the three, the CD 110 Dream Deluxe gets an all-new fuel-injected motor and like other Honda BS6 two-wheelers, it gets an ACG starter motor for silent starts. It also comes with a more durable sealed chain. The Hero HF Deluxe now gets i3S tech first seen on the Splendor iSmart. It is claimed to improve fuel efficiency by 9 per cent. The BS4 TVS Sport was already a highly fuel-efficient motorcycle but the new fuel-injected BS6 motorcycle claims to be 15 per cent more efficient. 

Dimensions: 

The Honda CD 110 is the largest motorcycle here with one of the longest seats. Its long wheelbase should give it more stability. All three bikes are equally matched in terms of seat height and weight. The TVS Sport impresses with its ground clearance and larger fuel tank, which should afford it more range. 

Underpinnings: 

The Honda CD 110 Dream uses a new diamond-type frame and is the only bike here to get tubeless tyres. It, however, misses out on rear suspension adjustability. The TVS Sport gets a more adjustable rear suspension but has a smaller rear drum brake. The Honda has an edge here in terms of braking and convenience of tubeless tyres. 

Features:

All three motorcycles get refreshed graphics and alloy wheels but the TVS Sport looks more premium thanks to its blacked-out alloy wheels and powertrain. It also gets a 3D logo. The Sport is the only bike here to get LED DRLs. It comes in six colour options. The Honda gets a DC headlamp, ignition kill switch, and pass light switch. It is available in four colours. The Hero HF Deluxe gets i3S start-stop tech and comes in five colour options excluding an all-black variant. In terms of style and features, the TVS Sport is the clear winner here. 

Pricing: 

The Hero HF Deluxe has the most number of variants here including a stripped-out spoke wheel variant. Its top-spec i3S variant is more affordable than the Honda CD 100 Dream Deluxe base variant. Compared to the other two, though, it misses out on performance and features. We have ridden Honda’s new BS6 motorcycles and the new motors have impressed us with their refinement. The massive price hike though makes the CD 110 Dream Deluxe quite expensive and the commuter motorcycle does not even come with the features to back it up. The TVS Sport, on the other hand, comes with a good design, a frugal motor, and offers better value here.
