National Motorcycle Champion, K Rajini has now bagged another international championship under his belt. He has become the winner of first Pirelli Malaysia Superbike Championship at the Sepang International Circuit, Kuala Lumpur.

During the final round, he faced a close competition with Malaysian rider, Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi, a former rider of Moto2 and managed to get overall 143 points, which is just 3 more than Zaidi who ended at 140 points. Rajini chose Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for the championship whereas his competitor Zaidi was on much faster Honda CBR1000R. Rajini rode smartly and snatched the victory from Malaysian rider.

After winning the championship, Rajini said, “I am really happy and proud to win the international race in a 1000cc category for the first time. Actually, I did not push the bike to the max. Zaqhwan has the faster bike and I had to ride smart and just follow him to make sure to collect the championship points to win the overall title. With that achieved, we now look forward for the next year to defend the crown”.

He further stated, “This is my third international crown having won Malaysian Super Series in 150cc in the year 2006, and then the Losail Asian road racing championship in 600cc in 2013”.
