Ola Gig And Gig+ Showcased At Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
The Gig and Gig+ marks Ola’s entry into the commercial two-wheeler space
Ola Electric has showcased their new commercial vehicle lineup, at Auto Expo 2025. It includes the recently launched Ola Gig and Ola Gig+. Here’s a brief overview of both the models and their prices.
Ola Gig
The Ola Gig is a last-mile delivery vehicle, which features a modern design and styling. The scooter is powered by a 1.5kWh battery pack, which is swappable. This will make the scooter a lot more capable for last mile-delivery. The battery pack offers a claimed range of 112km at a full charge.
It is powered by a 250W motor which offers a claimed top speed of 25kmph. The scooter also offers 2 luggage mounting points, at the front and rear. This will help quite a bit when it comes to hauling cargo.
With the decent range it offers and the swappable battery setup, the scooter makes for a potent last-mile delivery vehicle. It is sold at a price of Rs 39,999 (on road), as it is a low speed scooter which doesn’t need registration.
Ola Gig+
The Ola Gig+ is a more powerful offering in the commercial two-wheeler lineup. It offers a modern design, with a proper front apron and LED headlight setup.
It has a 1.5kWh swappable battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 81km. Customers also have the option to upgrade to a dual 1.5kWh battery pack which will increase the claimed range to 157km.
The scooter is powered by a 2.5kW motor and has a claimed top speed of 45kmph, which is quite decent. The scooter also offers a luggage rack at the rear, and a spacious floorboard. Overall, the scooter has enough range and performance to meet last-mile delivery requirements.
BikeDekhoSays
Ola Electric entering into the commercial vehicle space is a welcome move. The introduction of swappable batteries on both the scooters also brings a major advantage, which is increased range.
But to take advantage of this, Ola will have to invest in setting up battery swapping stations across the country. If the brand is serious about getting a foothold in the lucrative commercial two-wheeler space, then we can expect Ola battery swap stations across the country in the coming years. This will help in expanding electric vehicle adoption across the country to a great extent.
