Royal Enfield Bear 650: Alternatives For The Same Price

Royal Enfield has been on a launching spree this year and recently launched the Bear 650 in India. A scrambler that is based on the Interceptor 650. Royal Enfield has made many changes to the Bear to make it better off-road such as a 19-inch front wheel, slightly forward-set footpegs, a two-into-one exhaust, longer travel suspension at both ends, and a different seat. It gets the same engine as the Interceptor, a 649cc parallel-twin, air-cooled engine which makes 47.4PS at 7,150rpm and 56.5Nm at 5,150rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The KTM 390 Duke is a sports naked motorcycle from the Austrian manufacturer. Now in its 3rd generation, the 390 Duke packs a punch with its 399cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine which makes 46PS at 8,500rpm and 39Nm at 6,500rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The performance is enhanced further due to its rather lightweight nature, weighing in at just 168kg kerb. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends. Keeway Sixties 300i

The Keeway Sixties 300i is a retro-styled scooter but packs a punch with its 278.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that generates 18.9PS and 22Nm, paired to a CVT gearbox. The scooter weighs in at 146kg kerb, rides on 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends, has a 140mm, seat height of 790mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 10 litres. In terms of features, the Sixties 300i gets a semi-digital instrument cluster, all-LED lighting, a floorboard-mounted fuel tank cap, and an apron-mounted USB charging port. It is also one of the very few scooters available in India with dual-channel ABS which adds to the safety quotient.
Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2

The Ultraviolette F77 MACH 2 is an electric sports bike from the Bengaluru-based manufacturer. The motorcycle is available in two variants: F77 MACH 2 which is the lower variant and F77 MACH 2 Recon which is the higher variant. The motorcycle comes with a 7.1kWh and a 10.3kWh battery pack depending on the variant. The bike makes 40.2PS and 100Nm on the top variant, has a claimed top-speed of 155kmph and delivers a claimed Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of 323km on a full charge.
BMW G 310 GS

The BMW G 310 GS is the smallest adventure from the German manufacturer and is a result of collaboration between BMW Motorrad and TVS. The baby GS is powered by a 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 34PS at 9,500rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheel. The fuel tank capacity is of 11-litres and the bike weighs in at 169.5kg kerb. In terms of features, it gets an LCD instrument cluster, ride-by-wire, all-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS and, adjustable brake and clutch levers.
BSA Gold Star

The BSA Gold Star is a retro-styled motorcycle and marks the revival of the BSA brand in India. It is powered by a 652cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which makes 45PS at 6,500rpm and 55Nm at 4,000rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets a 12-litre fuel tank and weighs in at 201kg kerb. The Gold Star is as simple as they come in terms of features, it gets halogen lights all-round, an analogue instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS for safety. The bike rides on a 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel.
