Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350: 5 Things We Like
The most chilled-out Royal Enfield ever!
Royal Enfield recently launched the Goan Classic 350, a bobber-styled motorcycle which is based upon the Classic 350. We recently rode the Goan in Goa and here are 5 things which we like about the motorcycle:
Paint Schemes
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is available in 4 colours: Purple Haze, Shack Black, Rave Red and Trip Teal. One thing which Royal Enfield excels at are the colour schemes. The bike looks absolutely beautiful in person, especially the Trip Teal. The attention to detail on the Trip Teal colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous, it gets a teal and orange tank with a dark orange pattern which gives the bike a sophisticated touch.
Design Language
The motorcycle looks like a proper bobber and not an afterthought. The new mini ape-hanger styled handlebar, floating seat with an embossed logo, forward-set footpegs, rear fender which is attached to the swingarm and moves along with the tyre and a 16-inch rear wheel. All the changes add up and give the Goan a proper bobber stance which will turn heads when you’re cruising down the alleys of Goa.
Engine Characteristics
The Goan Classic 350 gets the same engine as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, a 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which makes 20PS and 27Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is quite refined and gets the same state of tune as well but, on the Goan, its nature is something else. The Goan Classic 350 feels the happiest at 60kmph unlike the Classic which feels very happy at 80-90kmph. The Goan wants you to relax and take in all the scenery while chugging around calmly.
Ride and Handling
At 197kg kerb, the Goan Classic 350 is the heaviest 350cc bike from Royal Enfield but it has a certain grace to the way it handles. Compared to the Classic on which it is based upon, the Goan is a lot easier to steer, thanks to the wider ape-hanger styled handlebar which provides you with more leverage while turning.
Comfort
Everything about the Goan has been designed with only one thing in mind —Comfort. The new mini ape-hanger style handlebar which is 100mm taller than the one of the Royal Enfield Classic 350, feels fantastic. The forward-set footpegs allow you to relax and the low 750mm seat height allows you to comfortably maneuver the bike around in the parking lot. The seat is relatively thin but is very comfortable. We rode the bike for about three to four hours and had no complaints whatsoever.
Bikedekho Says
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic is a very comfortable motorcycle which has been made with only one goal in mind–Comfort. The added practicality of having tubeless spoke wheels makes the bike a great deal and is a motorcycle which you should consider.
