Published On Feb 2, 2016 05:08 PM By Naveen Soni for Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4

Royal Enfield has Introduced its first adventure motorcycle that is powered by an all new LS410 engine. This is the company’s first SOHC engine and it is quite advanced than any other motor till now. Besides this, Royal Enfield Himalayan uses 8 rubber mounts to support the new LS410, which will help a lot to reduce vibes and increase the durability.

The LS410 is a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with overhead cam and counter balancer shaft to reduce a significant amount of vibrations. The motor further uses and oil-cooler to deliver a consistent performance in various temperature conditions. Using a carburetor type fuel supply system, the LS410 engine makes up to 24.5bhp of power at 6,500rpm and its peak torque delivery goes up to 32Nm between 4,000-4,500rpm. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox via a wet multi-plate clutch assembly.

The endurance level of the machine has been increased and the new LS410 has a service interval of 10,000 km, which means you need to change the engine oil after 10,000 km. Further, the spark plug needs to be changed after 25,000kms. The new motor misses that traditional thump of the Royal Enfield engines, however, you will like to hear the new throaty exhaust note which beats faster than usual. Overall, the new LS410 is the first of its kind of motor from Royal Enfield, which is more advanced, agile, having lesser vibrations and maintenance requirements and is ready to take on any challenge that comes on its way.
