Suzuki India has listed the 2021 Hayabusa on its official website, weeks after teasing the supersport on its social media channels. This suggests that the bike’s official launch could be just around the corner. Dealers have already started accepting bookings for a token ranging between Rs 2 lakh - Rs 5 lakh, depending on the city.

Our sources say that the bike could be launched by the end of April. However, considering the new COVID-19 restrictions, we could be staring at a possible delay. Perhaps a launch next month, followed by deliveries in June. The subsequent lots, which may be brought via the CKD route, could be further delayed due to the pandemic crippling labour capacity. According to our sources, Suzuki plans to organise a ‘Busa Day’ to showcase the new bike. The icing on the cake could be organising a meet of current Busa owners who could test the latest model for themselves.

The 2021 Hayabusa is expected to be priced around Rs 18 lakh - Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom), considering it'll initially be imported via the CBU route. However, we could see a price drop once Suzuki decides to import the bikes through the CKD route. The Busa’s price rivals are the BMW S 1000 RR and Kawasaki Z H2.
