5. Honda Shine 100 - Rs 64,900 (ex-showroom)

Engine: 98.98cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder

Power output: 7.38PS at 7,500rpm and 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm

Tested Mileage: 67.5kmpl in mixed riding conditions (city and highway)

The Honda Shine 100 is the Japanese manufacturer’s smallest capacity bike. It comes with a simple commuter design. It has a black base colour and features colourful graphics all around. The Shine 100 is available in 5 different colour options, but the only difference is in the colour of the graphics. At 99kg (kerb) it is a lightweight bike and is easy to handle. The Honda Shine 100 has an analogue instrument console and produces sufficient power to ride around the city. It gets both kick-start and self-start functions.

4. Hero HF Deluxe (Black And Accent) - Rs 59,998 (ex-showroom)

Engine: 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder

Power output: 8.02PS at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm

Claimed Mileage: 65kmpl (approx) in mixed riding conditions (city and highway)

The Hero HF Deluxe is a 100cc bike that comes with a simple commuter design. It is available in 4 variants. But only the base variant, the Hero HF Deluxe Black and Accent, is available at Rs 59,998 (ex-showroom), while the other variants are more expensive.

The HF Deluxe Black and Accent variant comes with an all-black colour scheme with no graphics. It just has a Hero logo at the headlight cowl and at the fuel tank, while the side panels carry an HF Deluxe badging. It does make more power than the Shine 100, but weighs 11kg more as well. The HF Deluxe also comes with an analogue instrument cluster as standard, but only has a kick-starter and misses out on a self-start. It also gets a USB charging port and the Hero i3S tech which helps save fuel by turning off the engine when the bike idles for a while.

3. TVS Sport (ES Variant) - Rs 59,881 (ex-showroom)

Engine: 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder

Power output: 8.19PS at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4,500rpm

Tested Mileage: 83.09kmpl in the city and 66.34kmpl on the highway

The TVS Sport comes with sportier looks and has sharper bodylines. The TVS Sport ES variant is available for Rs 59,881 (ex-showroom) whereas the ELS variant is more costly. The ES variant comes in 4 solid colours and misses out on graphics (which the ELS gets). However, we recommend going for the ES variant as paying almost 11k extra just for stickers doesn’t make sense.

Moreover, the TVS Sport features a bigger 110cc engine than the other bikes on this list. It has better power output and a low-end grunt that comes in handy while making overtakes in the city. Like the previous two bikes on the list, the TVS Sport also has an analogue cluster. It additionally gets an Econometer too and has a self-starter as well as a Kickstarter.

2. TVS Radeon - Rs 59,880 (ex-showroom)

Engine: 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder

Power output: 8.19PS at 7,350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4,500rpm

Tested Mileage: 73.68kmpl in the city and 68.6kmpl on the highway

The TVS Radeon shares the same 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with the TVS Sport, and is just Rs 1 cheaper. It is available in three variants: Base, Digi Drum and Digi Disc. Out of which, only the Base variant is priced at Rs 59,880 (ex-showroom), whereas other variants are more expensive. The Radeon Base variant is available in 5 different colourways and comes with a typical commuter design. It also sports a chrome exhaust and headlight cover which gives it a more premium look. While no other bikes on this list have tank grips, the Radeon gets it as standard.

The TVS Radeon features an analogue instrument cluster with an Econometer and has both Kickstarter and a self-start. It also comes with a USB charging port.

1. Hero HF 100 - Rs 59,018 (ex-showroom)

Engine: 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder

Power output: 8.02PS at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm

Mileage: Similar to the HF Deluxe (65kmpl approx)

The Hero HF 100 is a cheaper variant of the HF Deluxe and also shares the same 97.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with it. The HF 100 features the same design as the HF Deluxe too, but has a smaller 9.1-litre fuel tank as compared to the HF Deluxe’s  9.6-litre fuel tank. The HF 100 also misses out on tubeless tyres, a USB charging port, and the i3S technology that its sibling gets. The HF 100 comes with two colour options: Red Black and Blue Black, but only the colour of the graphics varies in both. It also comes with an analogue instrument console and features both a Kickstarter and a self-start.
