However, it has a monochrome LCD like the 250 Duke, it could also be the upcoming 390 Adventure X, which would be the cheaper variant of the ADV

Quick News Highlights:

- The test mule has a similar look as the 390 ADV but features a monochrome LCD console
- It has a similar vertically stacked projector headlight but misses out on LED DRLs
- The spied bike is fitted with MRF Meteor block-pattern tyres, but with a smaller block than the previously spotted 390 Adventure

A new KTM Adventure bike has been spied testing in India. While the rumours say it is the upcoming 250 Adventure, we think that it can also be the upcoming 390 Adventure’s cheaper variant, the KTM 390 Adventure X.

What does it get?

The spied ADV looks similar to the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. It has similar vertically-stacked projector headlights and a rally-style front fender. It also gets a tall visor with a number plate mount and a small cutout in between that works as an air vent. It also gets fibre handguards and has leg guards. The tail section also looks very similar to the upcoming 390 Adventure.

The spied bike features a monochrome LCD instrument console as the previous iteration of the  KTM 250 Duke. It also misses out on the LED DRLs (daytime running lights) which were spotted on the previously spied 390 ADVs. It has similar indicators.

If it is the upcoming KTM 250 Adventure, then it is likely to get the same 249cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, engine that produces 31PS and 25Nm and is equipped with a six-speed gearbox. However, we expect KTM to equip it with a bigger rear sprocket for better low-end acceleration.

The test mule has an inverted fork and a rear monoshock, which should be preload-adjustable. The spied ADV has disc brakes on both ends with dual-channel ABS and is also likely to get the supermoto mode to turn off the ABS at the rear. Based on the spy shots, the ADV looks to have 21-inch and 17-inch wheels at the front and rear, respectively. The bike is equipped with MRF Meteor block-pattern tyres, which is different from the 390 ADV as that bike has different block-pattern tyres with bigger blocks.

Why is there a possibility of it being the KTM 390 Adventure X?

Just like the current KTM 390 Adventure has a cheaper KTM 390 Adventure X variant with a monochrome LCD, different tyres and a non-adjustable suspension setup from the KTM 250 Adventure. The upcoming bike can also have a similar more affordable variant.

The new KTM 250 Duke has been launched with a new 5-inch TFT console from the 390 Duke. However, the spied bike was spotted with a monochrome LCD console, which suggests it could be the more affordable 390 Adventure X. It seems unlikely that KTM would equip the upcoming 250 Adventure with an outdated console, but the cheaper 390 Adventure variant could feature this simpler display to keep costs down.

Another reason is the tyres, the latest spy shots of the ADV reveal it having MRF Meteor tyres with smaller blocks, whereas the previously spied bike had bigger blocks and a different tyre.
