Yamaha has officially showcased the Nmax 155 maxi scooter at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, marking its second official appearance in India, after already being showcased at the 2024 expo as well. The scooter features the same engine as the popular sportsbike from the brand, the R15 V4.
Design
The Nmax 155 comes with a typical maxi-scooter design. Its front end is highlighted by a large and aggressive looking apron, a tall windscreen, and a twin-pod headlight, while the rest of the body mostly features blacked-out panels, giving it an aggressive look. It gets a feet-forward seating position, which is comfortable for both short city commutes and on long journeys as well.
Engine
The Nmax 155 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This motor is shared with other Yamaha models such as the Aerox 155, R15 V4, and the MT-15 V2. The engine produces 15.1PS, 13.5Nm in this scooter and is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Features
The Nmax 155 is equipped with features like LED lighting all around, a fully digital LCD instrument cluster that has smartphone connectivity, keyless ignition, traction control and engine idle start-stop functionality.
Underpinnings
The Nmax 155 shares its platform with the Aerox 155. It gets 14-inch wheels on both ends, a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. It has a fuel tank of 7.1-litres, while the Aerox has a capacity of 5.5-litres. It has a kerb weight of 131kg, 5kg heavier than the Aerox.
Launch, Price and Rivals
Yamaha is considering to launch the Nmax 155 in India sometime later in 2025. It is expected to be priced around the Rs 1.50 - Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Its rivals will be the Aprilia XSR 160 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.
