The Bajaj Platina 100 is one of the popular bikes in the 100cc segment in India due to its fuel efficiency, comfortable riding experience, and affordability.

Price:

You can buy the Bajaj Platina 100 in four different color options: Black & Red, Black & Silver, Black & Gold, and Black & Blue. The price for all variants is uniform at Rs 67,808 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Features:

The Platina 100 offers a range of features that enhance its appeal. It comes with a halogen headlight and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The rear-view mirrors are redesigned for better visibility. The long single-piece seat provides comfort, and flat foot-boards improve pillion comfort. The instrument cluster is analog and displays essential information such as speed, odometer readings, fuel level, and indicator lights.

Engine:

The Platina 100 is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 102cc DTS-i engine. It produces 7.9PS at 7500rpm and 8.3Nm of torque at 5500rpm, paired with a four-speed transmission. The motorcycle can reach a claimed top speed of 90kmph and comes with an 11-liter fuel tank.

Suspension & Brakes:

The bike features a tubular single-cradle frame with a telescopic front fork and twin rear shocks for suspension. Braking is handled by a 130mm front drum brake and a 110mm rear drum unit, equipped with a standard Combined Braking System (CBS). The motorcycle weighs 117 kg (kerb) and boasts a ground clearance of 200mm. While the 807mm seat is tall, it’s narrow enough to be comfortable for riders of different stature.

With its good mileage, plush suspension and affordable price tag, the Platina 100 is one of the most popular 100cc commuters in India. 

Design

The Platina 100 has a simplistic design. It gets a spacious seat that’s padded well and the handlebar ensures an upright riding posture. Interestingly, for pillions, the bike gets flat floorboards instead of conventional footpegs, which should ideally help in pillion comfort. Among these bits, the bike’s bikini fairing and graphics add a slight sporty touch. 

Engine, Performance And Mileage

Powering the Platina 100 is a 102cc air-cooled engine making 7.9PS and 8.34Nm. Paired to a 4-speed gearbox, Bajaj claims that the bike can do a 90kmph top speed. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork along with dual shocks. Braking, meanwhile, is taken care of by a 130mm front drum brake along with a 110mm drum unit at the rear. CBS (Combined Braking System) is standard. 

Handling And Ride Quality

The Platina 100 has good handling and ride quality. It’s easy to maneuver through traffic and can handle bad roads quite easily.   

Comfort

The Platina 100 is quite a comfortable bike to ride. The long and flat seat has enough room to accommodate the rider and the pillion and the handlebar is positioned well to give the rider an upright, comfortable posture.
