Honda Activa Electric

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has dropped another teaser giving us a glimpse of the upcoming Activa electric scooter, ahead of its official reveal on November 27, 2024. Honda has teased the instrument cluster of the Activa electric and here’s everything you need to know about it.

The Japanese manufacturer showcased a new electric scooter at the EICMA 2024, called the CUV e. The electric scooter seems promising and can possibly be the basis of the Honda Activa Electric scooter. 

Honda’s first electric offering for the Indian market will likely be the Activa electric. That's because Honda Activa has been the best-selling scooter in India for years, so it’s only logical for the Japanese brand to cash in on the scooter’s popularity and develop an electric iteration.

The e-scooter is likely to be a mid-range vehicle with a fixed battery pack. Honda had also teamed up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to establish a network of battery-swapping stations across the country at the latter’s petrol pumps. So there is also a possibility of Honda launching EV two-wheelers with swappable battery tech as well. 

The Honda Activa Electric is expected to be launched by March 2025. It will rival the likes of TVS iQube, Ather Rizta, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ola S1 Air and the Bajaj Chetak. It could come with a price tag of around Rs 1 lakh to 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
