I got my Pulsar 150 DTSi in 2004. Technically speaking it's weaker than the current one. However over the years I have done great rides and long trips on it.. trust me, not a glitch. Agreed that it requires regular maintenance just like the RE. It is not a street bike and should not be used for regular traffic stressful commutes. However if you are a person who commutes majorly on the highway then there can't be another better bike than this. Understand one thing, in our country we expect both mileage and power at the same time. When your bike is tuned for both, then the stress goes to the spares and one must understand this. One must consider the dynamics and ride comfort which most new bikes do not offer. The mono shocks do give backaches in other bikes. Well I have used my bike even as a dirt bike. Have beaten KTM in traffic signal take off's from 0 to 50 taking the lead until that plastic toy overtakes. Have made R15s cry while overtaking in traffic. I admit I spent more than a lakh over these years just for the maintenance but it has all been worth spending for the way I ripped it. Con= low torque. If you have been a fan of Yamaha RX 100 in the 80s, then this is it's counter part in the following decades and still is with its monster acceleration. Secret= If you have bought a new Pulsar, follow the speed limits of under 50 for 2000 KM's and the under 70 for the next 2000. Your mileage will be unbeatable for life. Then you can rip it. Get a good mechanic once your free services over. If you love riding=go for Pulsar.
