Bajaj Pulsar NS200

Change Bike

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is a 200cc performance-oriented naked bike. Its engine is derived from the KTM Duke 200 and was the first Bajaj bike to roll out of the Bajaj-KTM partnership in 2012. Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Summary

What is the price of Bajaj Pulsar NS200?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is available in a single variant which is priced at Rs 1,57,427 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Can the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 overtake in the city easily?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 24.5PS and 18.74Nm, making it one of the most powerful bikes in the 200cc naked segment in the country. Its 0 to 60kmph pickup time is an impressive 4.21 seconds. It can go from 30kmph to 70kmph in 5.37 seconds in third gear (VBox tested) and has enough grunt at not only lower revs, but is also able to pull all the way to its redline, ensuring easy overtakes in the city.

What is the mileage of Bajaj Pulsar NS200?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 delivers a real-world tested mileage of 40.84kmpl in the city and 40.36kmpl on the highway. These mileage figures are decent for a 200cc naked bike. The bike gets a 12-litre fuel tank capacity, which means it will provide a range of over 450km on a full tank.

Is the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 a good bike for college students?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is a perfect bike for college students who want to get a powerful and feature-loaded bike without breaking the bank. It comes with a sporty design, offers impressive performance, has a decent list of features, gets a comfortable yet slightly sporty riding position and provides decent mileage for a bike of this segment. It offers sufficient power for everyday city commutes as well as for weekend rides. Moreover, the split seat setup provides enough space for both the rider and the passenger to sit comfortably and the presence of dual-channel ABS ensures safety, especially on wet roads.

What are the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 features?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is equipped with an LED headlight accompanied by LED DRLs, while the taillight and indicators are also LED. The 200cc naked bike gets a full-LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call and SMS alerts, phone battery and signal levels, and turn-by-turn navigation. Along with the speedometer, odometer, tachometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and basic tell-tale lights, the NS200 also shows useful readouts like distance-to-empty, real-time mileage indicator, and a gear position indicator. Moreover, the console is neat and easy to read.

Apart from this, the Pulsar NS200 comes equipped with a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc brake, with dual-channel ABS as standard. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.

What's the best colour of Bajaj Pulsar NS200?

The Pulsar NS200 is available in four colour options: Cocktail Wine Red - White, Pewter Grey - Blue, Gloss Ebony Black and Metallic Pearl White. Out of these paint schemes, we think the Cocktail Wine Red - White is the best colour of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The bright red shade looks menacing, while the white stripes complement its overall design. Moreover, the ‘200’ decal on the tank extensions enhances its sporty appeal.

Can you do highway rides on the Bajaj Pulsar NS200?

The Pulsar NS200 delivers good performance, and comes with a 6th gear making it suitable for highway touring. The bike can comfortably cruise at around 80-90kmph and can handle high-speed overtakes as well. It can also reach highway speeds with ease. Therefore, the NS200 can manage highway rides without any issues and will keep you engaged on long open roads.

Is the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 worth buying?

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is one of the best bikes in the 200cc segment. It’s a great option for anyone looking for a stylish and sporty bike with impressive performance, features, and affordability. It strikes a good balance between power, mileage, and comfort, making it an excellent choice for those upgrading from smaller bikes.

Best Bajaj Pulsar NS200 alternatives in India

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 competes against bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, Honda Hornet 2.0 and the KTM Duke 200. Both Pulsar NS200 and Apache RTR 200 4V come with sharp handling, impressive performance, features and decent mileage, Rs 1,47,820. The Duke 200, on the other hand, provides even more performance, better underpinnings, and sportier, more premium looks. However, at Rs 1,98,317 (ex-showroom), the Duke 200 is almost Rs 40,000 more expensive than the NS200.

  • Now comes with a lot of new features like smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation
  • The new headlight design gives the bike a premium look

Things We Don't Like

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 Expert Review

BikeDekho Experts
Now with the updates to both the underpinnings and features the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is a more competitive offering when compared to its rivals. Now it is also a good option if you are looking for an affordable 200cc streetfighter that can offer both good performance and a decent set of features.

Overview

One of the most popular contenders in the 200-250cc sports naked bike category, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 received its first significant update in 2023. The first-ever Bajaj product developed in collaboration with KTM, the Pulsar NS200 has become a more desirable and value-for-money motorcycle than before with the updates. Prices for the new 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 start at Rs 1,58,336 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 full review

Design

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 retains its eye-catching streetfighter design, with which it debuted back in 2012. However, the 2024 Pulsar NS200 has revised sportier body graphics, which makes it look bolder than before. The front has an all-LED headlamp with lighting-bolt-shaped LED DRLs. Even the turn indicators are now all-LED units, though the tail section remains unchanged with split LED tail lamps, split seats and a compact aluminium rear fender.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 199.5cc engine that produces 24.5 PS @ 9,750 rpm power output and 18.74 Nm @ 8,000 rpm max torque output. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The liquid cooling does a great job of keeping temperature levels low in peak traffic, and even during long highway runs, the engine does not feel over-stressed. Throttle response is impressive at low RPMs, with the Pulsar NS200 feeling more noticeably powerful beyond the 5000 rpm mark, pulling strongly to its redline. Vibrations creep in on the footpegs and handlebars, but if you are pegging at the throttle, you will barely notice it.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 can easily maintain 3-digit speeds, with a speedo-indicated top speed of 145 kmph. Compared to its previous iteration, Bajaj claims the Pulsar NS200 is now 1.5 kg lighter, which should improve performance. In real-world riding conditions, the Pulsar NS200 can deliver up to 40 kmpl of fuel efficiency.

Handling & Ride Quality

Bajaj's addition of an upside-down telescopic fork at the front and lighter wheels in the Pulsar NS200 has made it easier to manoeuvre at lower speeds. The chassis setup of the NS200, including the perimeter frame, matches the sporty aggression of its styling. The sporty riding position and the compact wheelbase allow for better control at higher speeds or while attacking corners. The suspension is a bit on the firmer side to aid with sharper handling dynamics. Braking performance is progressive yet strong from the 300 mm disc at the front and the 230 mm disc at the rear.

Comfort

The seating arrangement of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 remains sporty. The 807mm seat height is low, but the wide seats and centre panels tend to push your legs out wider when straddling the motorcycle. It makes getting both your feet on the ground slightly more difficult on this than on other bikes with similar seat heights. The riding ergonomics of the Pulsar NS200 are not sporty but decently comfortable even for longer riding journeys.

Features

The latest iteration of the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 features an upside-down suspension unit at the front. However, the most noteworthy feature addition is the all-new full-LCD instrument console that provides information such as distance-to-empty, gear position, real-time fuel economy, and average fuel economy. It also has Bluetooth connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation. The Pulsar NS200 also gets split seats, clip-on handlebars, split pillion grab rails, and backlit switches.

Bajaj Pulsar NS200 features

The new console is a negatively-lit LCD one and offers Bluetooth connectivity and features such as call and SMS alerts, phone battery and signal levels and turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, the console also displays readouts like distance-to-empty, real-time and average mileage along with regular readouts such as speed, tachometer readouts, fuel level and odometer and trip meter readouts.

Bajaj has also reworked the left-hand side switchgear and added a new button, with which riders can navigate the console.

Should you buy

If you're a riding enthusiast who prefers aggressive styling and raw power without compromising practicality and affordability, the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is a great pick. It is a good balance between performance, efficiency, and comfort, making it a potent choice for those who want to upgrade to more powerful motorcycles.
