Ducati Multistrada V4

Ducati has launched the Multistrada V4 RS in India. The ADV gets a 1103cc V4 Desmosedici engine, producing 180PS and 118Nm, which is 10PS more and 7Nm less than the standard Ducati Multistrada V4.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 is priced at Rs 20.99 lakh, while the V4 S Grand Tour has been priced at Rs 25.49 lakh. The V4 Rally carries a chunky Rs 29.72 lakh price, the Pikes Peak is priced at an exorbitant Rs 31.48 lakh and the range-topping V4 RS costs Rs 38,40,600 (all prices ex-showroom India).

The Multistrada V4 range shares the same 1158cc V4 Granturismo motor. The standard Multistrada V4 and V4 S Grand Tour make 170PS and 125Nm, the V4 Pikes Peak produce 124.5Nm, V4 rally makes 121Nm, whereas the Multistrada V4 RS gets a 1103cc, liquid-cooled, V4 Desmosedici engine inspired by the Ducati Moto GP bikes and produces 180PS at 12,250rpm and 118Nm at 9,500rpm. 

It gets tech features like cylinder deactivation and has its valve service interval at a whopping 60,000km. The V4 motor makes less power but more torque than the Streetfighter V4. The Multistrada V4 RS has a 22-litre fuel tank, 840mm - 860mm Adjustable seat height, Marchesini light alloy forged wheels and a kerb weight of 225kg.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 is the third motorcycle in Ducati’s portfolio to feature a V4 engine after the Ducati Panigale V4 and the Ducati Streetfighter V4. It's identical to the Multistrada 1260 in terms of styling. That said, a couple of tweaks have been made to the fairing, LED headlight, side panels, and rear subframe to help differentiate it from the older model. More importantly, it’s the first bike to feature radar-based adaptive cruise control tech.

The Multistrada V4 range competes against the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and the Harley Davidson Pan America 1250. The range-topping Multistrada V4 RS goes up against the BMW S 1000 XR.
