What features does the Super Splendor get?

The Hero Super Splendor has a halogen headlight, the tail light and the indicators are also bulb-type. It comes equipped with a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer and an LCD that shows fuel gauge, odometer, real-time fuel efficiency, clock and other basic telltale lights. Other features include a USB charging port and a side-stand cut-off function.

The bike also gets the Hero i3S start-stop technology which turns off the bike if it idles for a while. It turns back on when the clutch lever is pressed. This also improves the overall mileage when riding through traffic. The i3S can be switched off as well.

Is the Super Splendor suitable for shorter riders?

The Hero Super Splendor has a well-cushioned single-piece seat. With a seat height of 798mm, it is slightly on the taller side for a commuter bike, but the bike has a slightly narrow profile. This means that the shorter riders may need to tip-toe to place both their feet on the ground. But, the slim seat should help shorter riders to flat foot as well.

Is Hero Super Splendor worth buying?

The Hero Super Splendor provides decent performance, good handling and a comfortable riding experience. Overview

The Splendor nameplate is as iconic as it gets in the history of Indian two-wheelers. The Super Splendor carries over all the positive traits of the venerable Splendor, but with a bigger heart. It retains the practicality of the Splendor while promising to offer more performance with the bigger engine.

Design

The new Hero Super Splendor has been designed with a more fluid, contemporary touch while not straying too much from the Splendor’s utilitarian design language. For starters, the headlamp cowl retains the familiar silhouette but the flyscreen is slightly sportier. The utility box under the fuel tank is now smaller, and the side panels get silver highlights which neatly cover the carburettor. At the rear, the grab rail is merged with the tail-section of the bodywork for a more contemporary look. The graphics on the bodywork is also new, and the bike comes in nine colour choices while the Xtec variant gets three colour choices.

Engine, Mileage & Performance

Powering this commuter bike is a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor from the new Glamour. It delivers 10.7PS at 7500rpm and 10.6Nm of torque at 6000rpm. A 4-speed transmission transfers the power to the rear wheel. The engine’s efficiency is enhanced by i3S start-stop technology which switches off the ignition if it idles for a while. It turns back on when the clutch lever is depressed. This tech should improve fuel efficiency when ridden through roads clogged by traffic. The i3S feature is switchable too.

Handling & Ride Quality

Telescopic forks up front and twin five-step preload adjustable shock absorbers at the rear are mounted on the tubular double cradle frame. The ride quality is relatively stiffer than the previous-gen bike. The chassis allows for agile handling at low speeds but needs to instil more confidence at higher speeds.

The bike is easy to ride and flickable at slow city speeds. Braking duties are handled by 130mm drum brakes at the front and rear. A 240mm front disc brake is available for the disc brake variant. The bite from the brakes is good and provides ample confidence while stopping. 

Comfort

The Hero Super Splendor provides a good ride quality combined with its flickable handling characteristics. The ride quality is stiffer over bumps and potholes but the comfy seat manages to somehow balance it out, translating to an overall comfortable riding experience. 

Features

The instrument cluster remains an analogue unit with a digital inset. It includes the speedometer, fuel gauge, neutral and side-stand indicator, and comes with a self-starter. The Super Splendor Xtec variant gets a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for calls and SMS alerts. The Xtec variant also gets an LED headlight.

Should you buy

The iconic Splendor is still running strong and the Super Splendor is a very capable 125cc commuter motorcycle. It offers good performance, should offer superb mileage, comfortable ride quality and even a digital instrument console in the Xtec variant. And with prices starting from Rs 80,848 for the regular variant and Rs 85,178 (all prices ex-showroom) for the Xtec variant, it is a very viable option to consider if you are on the market for a reliable 125cc commuter bike.

    Recently i purchased the hero Super Splendor(new Drum ) model, i just say its a best bike for middle family in this rate its gave a massive features like good engine, great look, disk brake and other some features and its milage be too good, and the seat length is best for family comfort and easy maintenance its parts easy available in bike store and easly services its a best bike for middle level,but if you want for off roading or trips like in mountain and other here its not so good but according to prize its best bike in our segment.
