CBR LOVE STORY
I always wanted to have a CBR and in 2011 when Honda launched it I thought this is the time for me to fulfill my wishes. I was a student at the time. Even then the price of the bike was 1.68 lakh ex showroom and it was not easy to convince my parents to invest this much amount on a bike which I'll be using as my everyday commuter. Finally I ended up buying P 220 pulsar 220 however that wish to have a CBR was remained in me until I started working. At the beginning of 2018 I decided to buy one. I did some research on internet and found out that Honda has stopped manufacturing CBR because of BS3 restrictions in India. Then I started looking for some other option but then I thought it was a dream so I should fulfill that even if I have to buy a pre owned bike. I did some more research and found out that most of the CBR'S was not that much used and they were in good condition. Finally I ended up buying 2011 CBR in really reasonable price. That how I bought it.
Now let me tell you about the performance and maintenance and my overall experience.
Before we start with that I would like to tell you that I have been automobile enthusiast from my childhood days I have only one passion. that is for motorcycles, because of that For me it's really easy to understand a motorcycle just by riding it for few kilometres.
The day I took the test ride of this CBR I already realised that I will have to put some more money. I invested wisely and it took me 6 months to restore the machine to its actual performance figure.
I will not tell you about the numbers the performance figures because you can read that on internet I will tell you about the things which is not available on the internet. Let's start with the character.
.
The time Honda created this bike for the Indian market they were having no plans to launch it as a sports tourer bike but because of the fairing and the overall styling they had to consider it as a sports bike. At that point of time it was main rival there was pulsar 220 which was already doing good in the market. Honda never presented this as a sports tourer for them it was just a quarter litre segment sports bike.
It was later on when the realised the bike they have built is built for different purpose at least for our Indian road conditions. As per the international standards it was always been a beginner sports bike.

On highways bike feels like it's in home because actual power comes into the action after 3 or 3 and half thousand RPM. And on highway where most of the time you are doing around six or seven thousand RPM (till the time you are cruising and in a really good mood) it feels fast. 7000 RPM it's the peak for the power output where it makes 26.5BHP but the fun part is the engine is its red line Which is at 10000 RPM. so between 7 to 10000 RPM you have really good room to push the bike and play with the throttle.

After 5000 RPM it accelerates really good and that is the point where the bike starts changing its sound. you can see the difference like day and night if you compare it with any other 250 CC segment bike available in India.

. The maximum speed which have taken this bike is 163 km per hour however I have seen videos in which guys took this bike to its rev limiter limits and manage to get 180 plus numbers.

For daily commute in traffic you may have to struggle because of the leg of urgency in the initial pick up but the mid range and good top end compensate that really good.

The ergonomics are really comfortable for the rider and pillion for city traffic as well as on highway. In every 6 month I take my bike to my hometown which is 600 km from Delhi and it's really comfortable. No pain on my wrists or on my neck not even on the shoulder. It's the miles hunter for sure.

Only bad thing which I found is the standard tyres it comes with. No grip means no grip but still if your basics of riding are clear it will not let you get down on the ground.

You will have to struggle on the fast corners because of the tyre as well as the softer suspension. softer suspension is something that you can fix by making changes on the rear. since its adjustable but for the tyres I recommend either go for PIRELLI if your are corner guy or MRF if you want it to last really long.

Good things are the build quality , engine performance, no vibrations and the excellent brakes.

That's my review of CBR 250R after 12000km. My name is Yash Sharma and I am proud to be a lover of CBR.
