15th September, 2015: Mahindra Two Wheelers Limited brought its premium rider motorcycle in the country, which was christened as Mahindra Pantero. It is powered by a 106.7cc, air-cooled, four-stroke engine that pumps out 8.5bhp of power and 8.5Nm of torque. The bike has sharp body dynamics with wolf-eyed twin pilot lamps that adds up some aggressiveness to the bike’s structure. The company has also offering 4 colors with amazing graphics namely: Fiery red, Sterling silver, Blazing black and Cool black. Overview

Mahindra Pantero is one of the most reliable commuter motorcycles of the country that was launched back in 2013. The bike is well equipped with some attractive elements like, digital instrument cluster and a LED tail lamp unit that make it a highly pleasing and premium utility bike. Targeted towards the common mass, the bike promises a superior all-round performance without compromising on fuel economy.

The bike equipped with 106.7cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that belts out a net power of 8.5bhp at 7,500rpm with a maximumtorque of 8.5Nm at 5,500rpm. The MCI-5 (MicroChip Ignited 5-curve) mill uses a four-speed constant mesh gearbox with well spaced gear ratios. With all these features, the bike can approach to a top speed of 90kmph and delivers a respectable overall mileage of 79 kmpl as claimed by the manufacturing company.

Mahindra Pantero runs on grippy tyres that are furnished with 2.75” x 18” front and 3.0” x 18” rear elegant black alloy wheels. It has 130 mm drum brakes at the front end as well as at the rear end. Coming to suspension, it has telescopic, hydraulic damped shock absorbers at the front and 5-step adjustable, coiled hydraulic-damped shock absorbers at the rear.

The bike is built on a steel double tubular cradle frame and comes with sharp body dynamics. The front connective tissue has an aggressively styled headlamp merged with twin pilot lamps. The bike looks more catchy with its appealing body graphics present throughout its body. A curvy and mid-sized fuel tank design looks decent and offers a good riding posture. Moving towards the rear, it has a long and comfy seat that provides comfort even on longer rides. The tail lamp section comprises of a full LED unit, which is not commonly seen in commuter and utility motorcycles.

Furthermore, It has overall body dimension of 2,000mm x 735mm x 1,050mm (LxWxH), Mahindra Pantero presents itself as a stunning utility motorcycle. It has a minimum ground clearance of 1,265mm and 165mm respectively that offers good handling and stability even in high traffic areas. The 13.7 liter capacity fuel tank ensures a long distance run without refuelling. The total kerb weight of the bike sums up to 120kg that makes it a lightweight and simple to ride motorcycle. The instrumentation is easy to read and purely digital consisting of a speedometer, tachometer, twin tripmeters, odometer and fuel gauge.

Design

The manufacturing company offers it with a sharp body dynamics that distinguishes it from other ordinary looking commuter motorcycles of the country. Mahindra Pantero is powered by a 106.7cc, four-stroke, air-cooled, MCI-5 (MicroChip Ignited 5-curve) engine that is mated to a four-speed constant mesh transmission and uses wet multiplate clutch assembly. It develops a maximum power of 8.5bhp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 8.5Nm at 5,500rpm. The Pantero can clock from 0 to 60kmph in 8.85 seconds and revert a commendable fuel efficiency of 79kmpl.

Handling & Ride Quality

The Pantero moves on grippy tyres that are bolted over 2.75” x 18” front and 3.0” x 18” rear black alloy wheels. The braking duties are looked after by a pair of reliable 130mm drum brakes fitted at both ends. Moreover, it has telescopic hydraulic damped shock absorbers at the front and 5-step adjustable, coiled hydraulic-damped shock absorbers at the rear that offer easy and prosperous ride.

Features

The company offers it with a powerful 12V-35/35W halogen headlight that throws a regular beam of light, thereby brightening up the road well in dark. The Pantero has self returning choke, that ensures the choke never remain applied unintentionally.
