2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 Exhaust Note & More Details Revealed
A new video that captures the exhaust note of the updated Bajaj Dominar 400 has surfaced online
The new Dominar 400 sounds radically different compared to the current bike. It uses a twin-port exhaust instead of the existing bike’s single stubby unit. Also gets a new dual-digital instrument console layout. Launch expected in February 2019.Also read: Bajaj Pulsar 220F ABS Launched
The video also gives a glimpse of the bike’s new dual-digital instrument console that we were the first to report about last month. This unit is similar to the CS400 concept (on which the Dominar 400 is based) that Bajaj had showcased at Auto Expo 2014. However, the company launched the current Dominar 400 with a different setup that had all tell-tale lights on the tank-mounted console while the handlebar console housed the speedometer, tachometer, two tripmeters, odometer, clock, service indicator and fuel gauge. On the new Dominar 400, the primary handlebar-mounted console houses the tell-tale lights, speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and indicators for side-stand, engine kill switch and service reminder. The secondary tank-mounted console on the new bike features the odometer, two tripmeters, clock and gear position indicator.

The other major change in the new bike is USD (upside down) forks from Endurance, instead of the conventional telescopic one seen on the existing bike. It remains to be seen if Bajaj has retuned the suspension on the new Dominar 400 as the existing one is a shade on the stiffer side. That apart, the new bike will get the same 373.3cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that makes 35PS of power at 8,000rpm and 35Nm at 6,500rpm. However, we do hope Bajaj has ironed out the refinement issues that bother the current Dominar 400.

All these changes are expected to push up the Dominar 400’s price by around Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. The Dominar 400 ABS currently retails for Rs 1.63 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We already got confirmation that the new Dominar 400 will be Bajaj’s first launch for 2019. When seen in context of the production-readiness of the test mules, a February 2019 launch looks probable for the new Bajaj Dominar 400.
