2019 Bajaj Pulsar 150 Fi BS6 Test Mule Spotted Testing

Modified On Jul 3, 2019 11:31 AM By Gaurav Sadanand for Bajaj Pulsar 150

The new Pulsar 150 is likely to feature an updated engine equipped with fuel injection to meet BS6 emission norms

The spied Bajaj Pulsar 150 may come equipped with BS6-ready fuel injected engine.  Braking has been boosted with the addition of steel braided brake lines. Expect a price hike of around Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 over the current models.

A test mule of the Bajaj Pulsar 150, likely a BS6-ready model, has been spotted testing. Aside from the retuned engine, the bike seems to come with a couple of added features and cosmetic changes.

The most obvious update is the reintroduction of the red colour scheme, but this time with subtle graphics on the front headlight cowl. The front end gets a couple of other changes in the form of premium steel braided brake lines, a gold finished caliper and reflectors on the front fork.

The engine is the same 149cc single-cylinder mill that powers the current model. The change here is that it is fuel injected now. This will help the motor meet the BS6 emission norms which will kick in on 1 April 2020. In the current state of tune, the Pulsar 150 makes 14PS at 8,000rpm and 13.4Nm at 6,000rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.

In terms of underpinnings, the bike uses the same telescopic fork and twin shock absorber setup. A front disc brake with single-channel ABS and a rear drum unit handle braking duties. Its 17-inch alloy wheels comes wrapped in 80/100 front and 100/90-section rear tyres.

Considering the aforementioned updates, we expect a price hike of around Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000 over the current variants. Bajaj offers the Pulsar 150 in three variants: Standard (Rs 84,461), Twin Disc (Rs 88,339) and Neon (Rs 68,250, ex-showroom Delhi). It competes against the Hero Xtreme Sports, Honda CB Unicorn 150 and the TVS Apache RTR 160.
