This time two test mules were spotted with pillion rider and luggage

The next-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 is expected to launch next year.  It will get a new frame and all-new BS6-compliant motor. Will continue to get retro styling but with some modern features.

The next-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been spotted testing again. This time eagle-eyed enthusiasts spotted two test mules being ridden with luggage and pillion, probably to assess load capacity and long-distance pillion comfort.

As can be seen from the new and previous images, the next generation Classic 350 will continue to carry the same retro styling. It gets the same round headlamp and similar bodywork as the current Classic 350. However, there are subtle modern touches like the tail lamp which appears to be a smaller unit. It might get LED lighting though the headlamp continues to use bulb-type lighting. Another modern touch is the revised instrument console that deletes the ammeter pod and instead has a digital readout, possibly for fuel level and odometer and tripmeters. It also gets new circular switchgear.

The motor appears to be larger, which could mean engine capacity could increase from 350cc to 400cc. It continues to be air-cooled but would get fuel injection. The presence of an O2 sensor and catalytic converter means the motor is being prepared to clear the upcoming BS6 emission norms.

The new frame is now a dual-cradle unit instead of the current single-cradle one. The revision could be to accommodate a larger motor. It continues to get disc brakes on both wheels. However, the rear disc is now on the right side instead of left to accommodate what could be a new gearbox.

The new Classic 350 is expected to be priced around Rs 1.8 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect Royal Enfield to launch it in the first quarter of next year. Stay tuned for more updates.
