2021 Aprilia Tuono V4 Breaks Cover

Modified On Jan 17, 2021 10:00 AM By Pratik Bhanushali for Aprilia Tuono

The 2021 Tuono V4 gets a BS6-compliant motor and new goodies.

Gets a new Marelli 11MP ECU. Makes 177PS of peak power and 121Nm of torque. The front end has been redesigned.

If you thought Aprilia was going to take a breather for the rest of 2021 after announcing the RS 660 and Tuono 660, you are wrong. Aprilia has unveiled the 2021 Tuono V4 1100 RR and the Tuono V4 1100 Factory. The 2021 models have received a host of upgrades.

Starting from the front, the Tuono V4 gets an all-LED headlight with DRLs, like the 660 twins but with an additional cornering light feature. The handlebar is raised and the tank geometry and seat design are tweaked for added comfort. To increase space for the pillion, the rear foot-pegs are lowered. Furthermore, taking inspiration from the junior Tuono, Aprilia has mounted the aerodynamic winglets in the dual-fairing. Missed out on the Tuono 660 launch? You can check it out here.

The 2021 Tuono V4’s electronic suite includes six riding modes (three for the road and three for the track) traction control, wheelie control, ABS and newly added adjustable engine brake control. All of the options can be controlled by the redesigned switchgear and a larger TFT display.

Powering the Tuono V4 is the same 65 degree 1,077cc V4 that belts out an eye-watering 177PS of power and 121Nm of torque. For reference, Ducati’s Streetfighter V4 makes 208PS and 123Nm. It’s mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quick-shifter. Anchoring on the Tuono V4 is done by dual 330mm discs with radially mounted Brembo M50 monobloc callipers and a 220mm disc at the rear.

Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. Moreover, the Tuono V4  Factory gets Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system as standard equipment. The Tuono V4 now uses a lighter aluminium swingarm with lower reinforcement brace, similar to the one seen on Aprilia’s MotoGP and WSBK race bikes. Aprilia’s latest offering for in India is the SXR 160 maxi-scooter. Our team had a chance to swing a leg over it and here’s what we found.

The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR will be available in grey or white paint schemes whereas the Tuono V4 1100 Factory will be sold only in the black and red colour scheme. We expect Aprilia to get both the variants here via the CBU route and expect the Tuono V4 1100 to retail for around Rs 19 lakh and the Factory version to carry a premium of around Rs 2 lakh over the standard model.
