The iconic roadster may land up at showrooms sooner than everyone expected

[UPDATE: The 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been launched in India. To know the pricing, specifications and other details, head to our launch story here.]

The 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated launches this year, and it seems like it won’t be long before you spot one in the showrooms. Royal Enfield’s popular roadster may debut in India on August 27.

With the number of spy shots that have surfaced on the internet in all these months, there’s not much left to unearth anymore. The 2021 Classic 350 will be the second bike based on the brand’s new J Platform that debuted with the Meteor 350. So, the current 346cc UCE engine will be replaced with the new 349cc single-cylinder counterbalanced engine producing 20.4PS and 27Nm.

In its over a decade-long existence, the Classic 350 will undergo a substantial visual overhaul for the first time. Everything -- from the headlight, seat, switchgear to even the console -- has been tweaked. That said, the styling is unmistakably Classic 350.

Another significant change comes in the form of the Tripper navigation pod, which will likely be an optional accessory. While a few spy shots showed the pod, some models had it blanked out with an ‘RE’ logo.

In typical RE fashion, the 2021 Classic 350 will be available in multiple colour variants and with an option to choose between single and dual-channel ABS. Going by the different bikes spied, the Classic 350 will also be a part of the brand’s extensive Make-it-Yours customisation initiative.

The current Royal Enfield Classic 350 is priced between Rs 1,79,782 and Rs 2,06,962 (ex-showroom Delhi), and we expect the new-gen bike to retail at a premium of Rs 6000 to Rs 8000. The new Classic will go against the Benelli Imperiale 400, Honda H’Ness CB350, and the Jawa.
