Take a closer look at all the changes on the Himalayan

Royal Enfield has launched the 2021 Himalayan in the Indian market today at Rs 2.01 lakh. The first indigenously developed ADV motorcycle in the country has received a host of updates but it isn’t an all-new motorcycle. Here’s what’s new on the 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan:

The 2021 Royal Enfield receives a new Tripper pod as seen on the RE Meteor 350. The Tripper pod is a TFT screen that offers turn-by-turn navigation assist using GPS from your mobile phone. Despite the addition of the Tripper, the Himalayan continues to feature a compass.

The new Himalayan also gets a redesigned smoked windscreen that is more compact than the older unit.

Following complaints from taller riders over the older rack brushing against their knees, Royal Enfield designers have shortened the front rack.

The new Himalayan also gets a redesigned rear rack with a load-bearing capacity of 7kg. It has also been lowered for easier access.

The Royal Enfield ADV comes with improved seat cushioning for better comfort while touring.

Customers can also customise their Himalayan with accessories such as a touring mirror kit, comfort seats, handlebar brace and pad, aluminium panniers, and mounting kits.

The 2021 Himalayan is available in a new shade, Pine Green.

The other new colour option is Mirage Silver.

The third colour option on the new Himalayan is Granite Black.

No mechanical changes have been made on the new bike. It continues to be powered by the same 411cc single-cylinder motor as seen on the older bike. It develops 24.8PS and 32Nm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.

It’s the same story with the underpinnings as well. The 2021 Himalayan continues to feature a switchable ABS.

As we mentioned before, the 2021 RE Himalayan is priced at Rs 2,01,314 (ex-showroom), an increment of around Rs 10,000 over the older bike. Bookings for the new ADV bike are underway across all Royal Enfield dealerships in our country.
