Here are the standout items on the latest iteration of the RE adventure motorcycle

Kicking off its 2021 launch proceedings in style, Royal Enfield has ridden in the updated Himalayan. The new model is a spitting image of the previous one, but upon close inspection, you will notice the tweaks made to the bike are aimed to improve on its convenience quotient. So, here are the highlights of the latest iteration of the Royal Enfield Himalayan:

Navigate Easier

Borrowed from the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the new Himalayan comes with the Tripper pod. It provides turn-by-turn navigation on the small round TFT screen by using the connected smartphone’s GPS and is built in conjunction with Google.

More Room For The Taller Riders

Royal Enfield has been improving the Himalayan slowly and steadily for years. This time around, to make the bike more comfortable for taller riders, the Himalayan’s front rack has been tweaked to offer more knee space. Furthermore, the windscreen has also been redesigned for better wind deviation and now comes with a smoked finish.

Better Seat For Long Rides

Not that many riders were complaining of discomfort earlier, but the new Himalayan’s seat will be a tad more comfortable thanks to the denser foam padding. The tail rack has also been strengthened, with payload now increased from 5kg to 7kg.

More Colours

To keep things fresh, Royal Enfield has introduced the 2021 Himalayan in three new colours: Pine Green, Mirage Silver and a new shade Granite Black. Moreover, the previous colours of Lake Blue, Rock Red and Gravel Grey are also available.

Higher Asking Price

With all these updates, Royal Enfield has hiked the price of the Himalayan by almost Rs 9,000. The new model costs Rs 2.01 lakh (ex-showroom Chennai) whereas the previous version’s price started at Rs 1.91 lakh.
