Expect to see bikes like the retro W175 from Kawasaki, 2021 Classic 350 to the Yamaha XSR155

2020’s finally coming to an end and we can all agree that it’s been one of the worst years we’ve all experienced. Nonetheless, it’s time to put the past behind us and look forward to next year and what the two-wheeler industry has in store for us. Almost every manufacturer that has a product portfolio in India has something new to offer. Expect to see bikes like the retro W175 from Kawasaki, 2021 Classic 350 to the Yamaha XSR155

Kawasaki

W175

Expected Price - Rs 1.75 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6

Expected Price - Rs 2.5 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

First up is Kawasaki. Its W175 has already been spotted testing in India, hinting at its imminent launch. The Ninja 300 will also follow suit in its BS6 avatar and hopefully with a stonking new price tag thanks to Kawasaki’s decision to localise the product even further.

Bajaj Auto

NS250

Expected Price - Rs 1.3 lakh - Rs 1.5 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

It’s been a while since Bajaj made its presence felt in the two-wheeler segment with something new. That might change in 2021 with the NS 250 with new looks, more power and better features. Let’s be honest though, chances of the 250 range coming through next year is questionable considering we haven’t seen a single model being tested till date. Even so, let’s hope for the best and keep our fingers crossed. More information here.

TVS Motors

Zeppelin R

Expected Price - Rs 1.50 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Raider

Expected Price - Rs 1.50 lakh

Expected launch - Q3 2021

Creon

Expected Price - Q3 2021

Expected launch - Rs 1.2 lakh

TVS is one of the few companies that strive to offer new, tech-laden products every year. And 2021 may not be any different. We may get a glimpse of the production version of bikes like the Zeppelin R, Raider or the Creon. Click on the links to read more about TVS' upcoming two-wheelers.

Husqvarna

Vitpilen & Svartpilen 401

Expected Price -  Rs 2.3 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Svartpilen 201

Expected Price -  Rs 1.5 lakh - Rs 1.6 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Since the 250s are already here it's obvious that Husqvarna has plans of following it up with the Vitpilen and Svartpilen 401’s. The recipe? Offer the same bike with a larger more powerful motor and attractive new liveries. Hopefully, the 401 twins will be offered with spoked wheels just like the models sold in the international market. To make the bikes more accessible, Husqvarna may also launch the Svartpilen 201 in the first quarter of 2021.

Hero

XPulse 200T BS6

Expected Price -  Over Rs 1 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Xtreme 160S

Expected Price -  Over Rs 1.1 lakh

Expected launch - Q4 2021

Maestro electric

Expected Price -  Rs 1 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Hero MotoCorp’s BS6 portfolio isn’t quite complete just yet. The brand has yet to launch the XPulse 200T in its BS6 form. Expect new colour schemes, better rideability, and a minor drop in performance with the BS6 update. The Xtreme 160R has been quite successful for the brand. Since it already has a strong base, we believe Hero may introduce a faired version of the bike, perhaps the Xtreme 160S which could be launched in the fourth quarter of 2021. That's not all though, Hero may even step foot in the electric segment with the Maestro electric which is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2021.

Suzuki Burgman

Expected Price -  Rs 1.20 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Suzuki’s expected to enter the electric race to take on rivals like Bajaj, TVS and Ather with the electric Burgman. The scooter has been spied doing its rounds in India. More importantly, it may also introduce a 250cc version of the Intruder which could broaden its horizon in the 250cc segment. We really hope Suzuki gets the proportions of the bike right this time around.

Yamaha XSR155

Expected Price -  Rs 1.42 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

NMax 155

Expected Price -  Rs 1.3 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

The classic retro space is one of the fastest growing segments in India, with almost every manufacturer trying to get a piece of the action. Yamaha could enter the retro segment in the second quarter of 2021 with the XSR155. It’s essentially an MT-15 underneath with revised ergos, classic looks and a less sporty intent. Here’s what else you could expect from the brand.

Royal Enfield

2021 Classic 350

Expected Price -  Rs 1.7 lakh to Rs 1.8 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Hunter 350

Expected Price -  Rs 1.70 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Hardcore Himalayan

Expected Price -  Rs 2.2 lakh

Expected launch - Q4 2021

Royal Enfield plans to introduce a new model every quarter, which means there’s a whole lot coming our way in the foreseeable future. There are a bunch based on the ‘J’ platform of bikes that may be launched next year. This includes the 2021 Classic 350, Bullet 350, Cruiser 650, the recently spied Hunter 350 and hopefully a more hardcore version of the Himalayan. More details here.

Honda

Electric PCX

Expected launch - Q3 2021

BS6 Honda CB300R

Expected Price -  Rs 2.45 lakh

Expected launch - Q1 2021

Hornet 2.0 ADV

Expected Price -  Rs 1.3 lakh - Rs 1.4 lakh

Expected launch - Q3 2021

X-Blade update

Expected Price -  Rs 1.10 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Honda has made its mark in India by offering some of the best and most reliable bikes and scooters in India. But there’s more to the brand than meets the eye. The Japanese bike maker has finally started tapping into the performance, enthusiast market and has already rolled out a couple of products to keep its competition on its toes. Next year, we could expect to see products like the Electric PCX, the BS6 Honda CB300RHornet 2.0 ADV and possibly and X-Blade update.

Jawa

Jawa ADV

Expected Price - Rs 2 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

Yezdi Roadking

Expected Price - Rs 1.8 lakh

Cruiser

Expected Price - Rs 1.85 lakh

BSA bike

SXR 125

Expected Price - Rs 1 lakh

Expected launch - Q2 2021

SR 160 facelift

Expected Price - Rs 1.15 lakh

Expected launch - Q3 2021

The Europeans have their own share of launches planned for India next year. Aprilia, for instance, will announce the smaller SXR 125 that made its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo along with the SR 160 facelift.

Benelli

TNT 300
