2022 Honda CBR400R And CB400X Launched In Japan
Both the models have received some substantial updates to their underpinnings for the latest iterations
Honda has launched its updated 400cc duo, the CBR400R and the CB400X, in Japan. Both the supersport and the ADV have received quite a few substantial updates.
The Japanese bike maker has equipped both the models with a new Showa SFF-BP (separate function fork big piston) as opposed to the previous model’s conventional telescopic fork. The monoshock remains the same. Even the braking hardware has been upgraded to dual discs up front for increased braking prowess.

Overall, the CB400X now tips the scales at 199kg and the CBR400R weighs 192kg.
The powertrain remains unaltered. It's a 399cc liquid-cooled inline twin rated at 46PS and 38Nm, and mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Honda has also updated the CB400X’s LED headlight for a brighter and wider throw. It also receives a couple of new paint options of Pearl Glare White and Matte Ballistic Black Metallic. As for the 2022 Honda CBR400R, it’s now available in Grand Prix Red, Matte Ballistic Black Metallic and Matte Jeans Blue Metallic.
In Japan, the 2022 Honda CBR400R is priced at JPY 8,41,500 (around Rs 5.61 lakh) and the 2022 CB400X retails at JPY 8,58,000 (approximately Rs 5.72 lakh). However, neither of them will make it to the Indian market, as they will only be available as a CBU and hence, will cost way too high. Instead, Honda is likely to launch the CBR500R in the near future. Moreover, the CB500X already exists in the country.
So, if you are on the lookout for a 300-400cc ADV, we recommend you check out the KTM 390 Adventure and as for supersports in the same segment, check out the TVS Apache RR 310 or wait (just a few months) for the 2022 KTM RC 390.
