2022 Kawasaki Versys 650: Image Gallery

The popular middleweight ADV gets a fresh makeover and new hardware

The 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650 is finally here. Updates on the popular middleweight ADV seem well balanced with new design changes, more features and some rider aids. Here’s a quick look in nine images of what’s new.

Old vs new:

One look is all it takes to tell them apart. The 2021 model had that round, chubby look, whereas the new one looks sharp and chiseled, like you would after a year of crossfit.

Muscular face:

The new Kawasaki Versys 650 is strikingly handsome like the Versys 1000. It has the same face lip, wide jawline and sharp upswept lines on the fairing to accentuate an aggressive look.

LED headlight:

The revised LED headlights are not only a welcome addition to the adventure tourer but also help make a good first impression.

Adjustable flyscreen:

Considering how the Versys 650 has always been a good road-touring bike, this new four step-adjustable flyscreen is a big selling point.

TFT display:

It’s 2022, we should have gotten this at least two years ago. But better late than never, and we are grateful for the 4.3-inch TFT screen with dark and light mode.

Bluetooth connectivity:

TFT screen almost warrants Bluetooth connectivity, and the new Versys 650 will get smartphone connectivity as standard.

USB Charging:

USB charging is another useful feature to have on a touring bike, but sadly the Versys 650 will not get one.

Traction control:

The new Versys gets a two-stage traction control system. Riders can dial up or down the TC intervention levels and also turn it off completely.

Engine:

The heart of this motorcycle remains unchanged. Its 649cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine still makes 66PS and 61Nm. This platform has stood the test of time and is extremely beginner friendly.

Final thoughts:

The new Versys 650 is a friendly and inviting middleweight, one that’s easy for a newbie to wrap their head around. And now with better features and a fresher design, it feels appealing in its segment. Read the launch story to know more about its rivals, pricing and delivery related updates.
