2022 Kymco Like 125 EV With 199km Range Unveiled
The 2022 Kymco Like 125 EV comes with swappable batteries
Kymco, a Taiwan-based automaker, has unveiled the 2022 Like 125 EV globally. An electric avatar of the popular Like 125 petrol-powered scooter, it is reportedly priced at around EUR 1200, which translates to about Rs 1 lakh.
The electric scooter gets tasteful retro styling complemented by a few chrome elements. The Like 125 EV also gets blue highlights at the tail section, grab handle and around the headlight unit.
On the features front, the e-scooter gets an all-LED lighting system , a USB port placed in the glove box, a reverse mode and a digital instrument cluster that can be paired to a smartphone via the Kymco Noodoe application. This dash displays turn-by-turn navigation, call, message and weather alerts. Other notable features include a utility hook below the seat and a generous 27-litre underseat storage space that can hold a full-size helmet or three swappable batteries (weighing 6kg each) which ultimately lends the e-scooter a claimed range of 199km.
The Like 125 EV is powered by a 50V/13Ah Lithium-Ion battery and propelled by a 3200W brushless DC motor that puts out 124Nm of torque at the wheel.
The underpinnings of the e-scooter include a telescopic fork up front, a monoshock suspension at the rear, disc/drum brake setup and 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends. And at 110kg, the e-scooter is reasonably lightweight too.
Though the Like EV may not be launched in India, we have the Bounce Infinity E1, which is essentially based on the 22Kymco iFlow electric scooter. Ride-sharing platform Bounce had earlier acquired 22Motors. You can also take a look at other capable options such as the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ather 450X or the Ola S1 Pro.
