2022 Yezdi Scrambler vs Husqvarna Svartpilen 250: Photo Comparison

Modified On Jan 15, 2022 12:55 PM By Punya Sharma for Yezdi Scrambler

Two interesting scramblers, one desi and one Austrian – Which one is better?

There aren’t many sub-400cc scrambler bikes in India. And this scarcity is something Yezdi plans to benefit from for of its all-new Scrambler. But when talking about scramblers, it’s really hard to not think of the head-turning Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, which is built specifically for India. So which one of these should you go for? Well, we’re trying to find exactly that:

Yezdi and Husqvarna are two completely different companies. And this shows in their bike designs.

On one hand, the Yezdi Scrambler looks… well, like a scrambler, courtesy of the wired spoke wheels, the lean ribbed seat, tall mudguard, and the old-school twin exhausts. On the contrary, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 takes a neo-retro approach and looks quite unique with its barebones design, metallic paint scheme, dangling tail section, and alloy wheels.

The Svartpilen’s design comes at the cost of practicality, though, as it has a small 9.5-litre tank, while the Scrambler boasts a 12.5-litre unit.

Both bikes come equipped with all-LED lights, but the Husqvarna’s setup looks more premium.

Coming to features, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 comes equipped with dual-channel ABS, a round LCD console, and slipper clutch. The Yezdi Scrambler does a slightly better job here, as in addition to all this, it also packs three ABS modes, two USB ports (type-A and type-C) and a bash plate.

Next up, engine. The Yezdi Scrambler draws power from a 334cc, single-cylinder engine putting out 29.1PS and 28.2Nm, 2PS less than the Svartpilen’s 248.8cc unit. Both bikes come with 6-speed gearboxes.

Also, the Svartpilen is quite light at just 153kg (dry), which is nearly 29kg less than the Yezdi Scrambler’s kerb weight of 182kg.

On the suspension front, the Yezdi Scrambler is sprung on a conventional telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, whereas the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 employs premium WP Apex 43mm forks and a monoshock.

However, the Yezdi’s 19/17-inch (F/R) spoke wheels should make it more suitable for off-road jaunts.

From all this, we can conclude that the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 is the more premium bike here. And at Rs 2,10,765, it is priced on par with the Yezdi Scrambler’s dual-tone colours. So if you’re in the market for a standout, eye-catching, and fun scrambler, the Svartpilen 250 should be your pick.
