Here’s Your First Look At The Even More Hardcore Version Of The KTM 390 Adventure
This could be the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure R
A hardcore version of the KTM 390 Adventure has been spied road testing abroad with spoked rims. We gather that this could be the next-gen KTM 390 Adventure R, as the R variants in the KTM lineup are more purpose-built. This comes just after a week after the 2022 KTM 390 Adventure arrived at the dealerships here in India.
The motorcycle being tested sported a couple of changes like a reworked chassis, a new swingarm and wire-spoke rims. It also features a new 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear unit with block pattern tyres. As a consequence, the ground clearance of the bike appears to have increased from the 390 Adventure’s 200mm, making it even more perfect for off-roading. The new swingarm, too, adds to the increased ground clearance and is exclusive to the 390 Adventure R. With the new updates, the motorcycle gets altered riding ergonomics, which seems to make it more offroad-friendly. It borrows its front fender from KTM’s Enduro lineup, whereas the alloy bash plate is an existing Powerparts option for the 390 Adventure.
The test mule features the same signature LED headlight setup and the TFT instrument cluster.
The 390 Adventure R is likely to get the same engine as the current model: a 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 43PS and 37Nm. The R variant can be expected to have better gearing to ensure a stronger low-end grunt.
The upcoming bike is likely to offer a more engaging performance off the road with the host of updates it features. Expect the 2023 KTM Adventure 390 R to be priced fairly higher than the standard model, with a launch likely in early to mid 2023.
