Aprilia Bikes Launched in India in 2024
This is the busiest Aprilia has been in India!
Aprilia, the Italian manufacturer, was very busy this year. They launched the RS457 last year, a parallel-twin entry level sports bike in India and the best part being, it is manufactured right here in Maharashtra! For 2024, Aprilia expanded their product portfolio and here’s all the models they launched:
Aprilia RS 660
Price: Rs 17,74,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Aprilia RS 660 is a 660cc middleweight sports bike from the Italian manufacturer. The motorcycle is available in a single variant and gets three colour schemes: Racing Black, Acid Gold and Tribute. The RS 660 is powered by a 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, putting out 101PS at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm. It is linked to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard. The bike is packed to the brim in terms of features. It gets an all-LED lighting setup. It features an TFT instrument console and has a 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) with comprehensive APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) electronics package which includes traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, cruise control and 5 riding modes (Road and Track, 3 pre-set and 2 customisable modes).
Tuono 660
Price: Rs 17,44,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Aprilia Tuono 660 is the naked version of the RS 660. It shares the same engine as the RS 660 but gets a different state of tune to suit its road-going nature. The Tuono shares the same mechanicals and platform as the RS 660. The bike uses the same 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the RS 660, but in the Tuono, it makes 95.1PS at 10,500rpm and 67Nm at 8,500rpm, as opposed to 101PS and 67Nm in the RS and with a shorter final drive. It is paired to a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch and a bidirectional quickshifter as standard. The feature list is the same as the RS 660.
Tuareg 660
Price: From Rs 18,85,000 to Rs 19,16,000 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is the company’s first adventure motorcycle in India. It is available in 3 colours and 2 variants. The Tuareg 660 is equipped with the same 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the RS 660 and Tuono 660, but the ADV produces 81PS at 9250rpm and 70Nm at 6500rpm to suit its off-road characteristics. Aprilia has left no stone unturned when it comes to the features. The Tuareg 660 has an all-LED lighting setup and features a TFT console. The ADV also gets a 6-axis IMU and APRC Suite that includes traction control, engine brake management, cruise control and 4 Riding modes (2 pre-set and 2 customisable).
RSV4 Factory
Price: Rs 31,26,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)
The Aprilia RSV4 is a track-focused super sports bike and is the flagship motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer. The motorcycle is available in a single variant and a single colour: Ultra Gold. The RSV4 Factory is powered by a 1099cc liquid-cooled V4 engine which is capable of producing the same 217PS at 13000rpm and 125Nm at 10500rpm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. It gets all the bells and whistles you can think of in a sportbike and is a track missile in the right hands.
Verdict
Aprilia truly arrived in India in 2024 with the launch of their higher capacity motorcycle. The only drawback being the price, all the above motorcycles come through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route which makes them priced at a premium than their competitors. Aprilia also showcased the Tuono 457, a naked version of the RS457 at the EICMA motor show 2024 which will be made in India as well. The future looks promising for Aprilia with the introduction of new models, and if priced better, will surely become a hit in India.
