Aprilia RS 457 India Launch This Weekend At 2023 India Bike Week
Aprilia India on Instagram announced the launch of the RS 457 at the 2023 India Bike Week
Aprilia India will launch the highly awaited RS 457 at the India Bike Week on December 8, as the bikemaker teased the supersport on its social media channels. The caption “On the black sands of Vagator, the RS 457 will make a grand stop, with an announcement worthy of India Bike Week’s 10th anniversary. See you there!” further confirms the launch. Though it’ll be made in India (at the Baramati plant in Maharashtra), expect Aprilia to price it at a premium, possibly at around Rs 4.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be the first Aprilia bike to be made in India.
The 457cc Italian bike was unveiled in India ahead of the Bharat GP on September 20. The Aprilia RS 457 looks sharp, as the baby Italian shares its design cues from the bigger Aprilia RS 660. It also gets an underbelly exhaust.
The Aprilia RS 457 is powered by a 457cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces 47.5PS and 43.5Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The RS 457 is equipped with an all-LED lighting setup with the indicators integrated into the headlight. It gets three riding modes, traction control, a 5-inch TFT instrument console, and backlit switchgear. For additional safety, the bike gets four-piston callipers with dual channel ABS, and comes with Engine maps (AEM) with an anti roll-over system with two maps.
The RS 457 comes equipped with 17-inch wheels and rolls on 110-section front and 150-section rear TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres. It has a kerb weight of 175kg, which is quite light, considering the KTM RC 390, with a smaller, single-cylinder engine, weighs 172kg (kerb).
The twin-cylinder Italian directly competes with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha R3, which is launching on December 15th.
