Quick News Highlights:

- Gets two fuel tanks: one CNG and one petrol
- To be powered by a 125cc engine
- Expected to be priced around Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom)

The Bajaj CNG bike has been teased once again ahead of its launch on July 5, 2024. The latest teaser, posted on Bajaj Auto’s social media handles, reveals the bike’s silhouette and gives us a closer look at the CNG (compressed natural gas) and Petrol switch and the CNG fuel tank inlet, building more excitement around the launch of the world’s first-ever CNG-powered bike.

The latest teaser gives us a clear look at the blue button on the bike that switches between CNG and petrol on the bike. This enables the rider to switch to petrol when the CNG runs out, or switch back to CNG, very easily. It is conveniently placed on the left-side switchgear, just above the indicator switch. It also has a round button on the lower right side, likely to be for the horn. The teaser also showcases another part of the bike with a Bajaj logo, that appears to be the CNG fuel tank inlet.

Moreover, the teaser also revealed the silhouette of the CNG bike’s side profile, providing us with a sneak peek of the shiny purple front fender and fuel tank along with the long single-piece seat and the sleek grab rail. It also shows off a bit of the round headlight, instrument cluster, braced handlebar and rear-view mirrors.

What We Know About The Upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike So Far?

The upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike features a straightforward commuter design. It has a round headlight, a braced handlebar and a long single-piece seat that overlaps the fuel tank. The slim tail section has a sleek single-piece grab-rail, a stubby exhaust and a tyre hugger.

The Bajaj CNG bike is likely to be powered by a 125cc engine. However, its performance might be similar to that of a 100-110cc bike because CNG is less energy-dense as compared to petrol and sacrifices some performance. To add to that, CNG is significantly cheaper than petrol, which also reduces the running cost of the bike. Moreover, the CNG bike gets two fuel tanks, the first of which is a primary CNG tank that’s placed horizontally under the seat. The other is a small petrol tank, which can be used when the bike runs out of CNG.

We expect the Bajaj CNG Bike to be priced somewhere around the Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom) mark as Bajaj usually launches its bikes with a competitive price tag. It will rival other fuel-efficient commuter bikes in the 100-110cc category like the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, and Bajaj Platina 110.

Bajaj CNG bike’s official website is live now. It also has a registration link to receive updates on the CNG bike’s launch.
