Bajaj Auto has started deliveries of the Freedom 125 CNG bike, with the first delivery taking place in Pune, Maharashtra. Currently, the Bajaj Freedom 125 is only being sold in Maharashtra and Gujarat, with the top-of-the-line NG04 Disc LED variant only being available currently.
The manufacturer had only launched the bike in these two states as they have good CNG infrastructure in place. The Freedom 125 is offered in three variants currently, with the following prices.
Variant |

NG04 Disc LED |
Rs 1,10,000 |
NG04 Drum LED |

NG04 Drum |

The Freedom 125 is powered by a 125cc air-cooled, single cylinder engine which outputs 9.5PS and 9.7Nm. The bike has two power modes, petrol and CNG, with the ability to switch between the two while on the go.
The bike gets a 2kg CNG tank, with a capacity of 12.5 litres along with a 2-litre petrol tank. Bajaj claims the bike will be able to return a range of around 200km with the CNG tank and 130km with petrol. We did a deep dive into these claims to see if they stand. That said, the main concern customers of the CNG bike have is the safety and Bajaj had done many tests to prove that the bike is safe. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the tests.
So far Bajaj has only launched the top-end Disc LED variant in Gujarat and Maharashtra. The other two variants will be launched in August. The brand will likely launch the bike in Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka by October 2024 as these states have decent CNG infrastructure with the highest number of CNG pumps after Gujarat.
The Freedom 125 goes up against other 125cc bikes in the market such as the TVS Raider 125, Hero Xtreme 125R, and the Honda Shine 125.
