Bajaj Plans to Export 1,000 naked Pulsars to Indonesia

The India-based motorcycle company, Bajaj Auto has a marketing tie-up with Kawasaki. Bajaj sells Kawasaki bikes in India and has the license to export, assemble and retail its products using Kawasaki's network in Philippines and Indonesia.

In a press conference at the Akurdi, Pune, chief operating officer of Bajaj Auto, Mr. Pradeep Shrivastava said,“We recently started exporting the Pulsar 200NS bikes to Indonesia. We exported a batch of 500 units of this bike to Indonesia in July and plan to export another lot of 1,000 units during August to Kawasaki. These bikes are currently being rolled out from the Chakan facility, at par with our requirements.”. The Bajaj Pulsar will be branded as 'Kawasaki Bajaj Pulsar' in Indonesia (like Kawasaki Ninja branded as 'Bajaj Kawasaki Ninja' in India).

Currently, the company has an export demand of around 3,000 KTM Dukes per month, however they didn't disclose the export demand for Pulsar 200NS. However, demand of the bike is not much lesser than the Duke. Right now, all the KTM models and Pulsar 200NS are produced at the troubled Chakan plant. The company is saying that their sales and export are not effected by the strike, and if required , 50% of the Chakan plant's production will be shifted to the Waluj (Aurangabad) plant.
