Acceleration:
Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear |
TVS Radeon |
|
0-60kmph |
7.99 seconds |
7.88 seconds |
On paper, it is the Platina which packs more power and torque at 8.6PS and 9.81Nm, compared to Radeon’s 8.4PS and 8.7Nm of torque. And this also results in the Platina being the faster of the two in 0-60kmph runs, but only by a small margin, 0.11 seconds to be precise, which won’t matter in the real world.

Roll-on acceleration:

|
30-70kmph |
9.18 seconds |
10.92 seconds |
40-80kmph |
14.09 seconds |
14.51 seconds |
However, here’s where the Platina’s 9.81Nm of torque comes in handy. It is a good 1.74 seconds faster than the Radeon in 30-70kmph roll-ons. However, the Radeon does manage to close up the gap to 0.42 seconds in 40-80kmph rolls-ons. Overall, it is the Platina which has an edge when it comes to overtaking manoeuvres or zipping past traffic, but just slightly so.
Braking:

|
80kmph-0 |
40.55m |
47.10m |
60kmph-0 |
22.98m |
23.74m |
This is where the front disc brake on the Platina really gives it an edge. Because of drum brakes on both ends, the TVS motorcycle takes 6.55m more than the Platina to come to a halt from 80kmph. During 60kmph-0, however, things are quite close with the Radeon only stopping 0.76m ahead of the Platina.
Fuel Efficiency:

Highway |
71.06kmpl |
66.29kmpl |
City |
76.82kmpl |
63.97kmpl |
Coming to the heart of the matter - "kitna deti hain?" The simple answer is bohot. Both the motorcycle are quite impressive when it comes to their mileage figures. However, the Platina’s extra fifth gear gives it an advantage in extracting more mileage in the city as well as on the highway. In fact, the Platina 110 H-Gear is the most fuel efficient bike we have tested so far.
